Reliability Engineer

The Role:

Plan and provide technical services and manage activities required to ensure that Client offshore process control, instrumentation, metering systems and related equipment are designed, installed, operated and maintained to function safely, efficiently and productively.

Ensure all technical services and activities are managed optimally within the determined budget and available resources to meet requirements of business units.

Provide guidance and support / technical advice to Production (include Operations offshore) and Technical Service group regarding designs and configurations concerning these equipment.

Provide technical input into the performance standards for Safety Critical elements related to instrumentation, metering and associated equipment.

Responsible for the planning of the SCE testing offshore, but the tracking of the outcome/results of the SCE testing, including remediation or rectification, will be M&R group responsibility. Provide the technical expertise as required for any RCA carried out by the M&R group.

Provide input to M&R team on short and long-term planning Instrumentation, process control and automation maintenance.

Provide direction to contractors and offshore personnel regarding instrumentation, metering and related equipment management to optimize control and instrumentation equipment and associated machinery usage to the assets.

Participate in equipment specification reviews, RFQ processes, bid evaluation exercises and FAT’s for all major instrumentation, metering and automation equipment packages including that associated with major package items.

Assist in evaluating bids and provide advice to line organization of best "all round" offers regarding on-site and off-site repairs and materials procurement. Monitor contracts compliance by contractors from the perspective of ACV/cost and HSSE/work performance. Participate in qualifying contractors and performing quality assurance surveys.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:

1. Degree in Engineering (Instrument, Control, Electrical or Electronics) or related disciplines

2. Minimum 6 years of working experience in maintaining instrument, process control and automation equipment in the Oil & Gas industry preferably in an offshore environment.

3. Malaysian applicants only

4. Priority on Sabahan applicants
