BASF (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd was incorporated in 1989, and operates manufacturing plants in Bukit Raja in Selangor and Pasir Gudang in Johor, as well as an operational site in Kulim, Kedah.

Objectives

Develops and grows sales in Industrial segment and Japan Transplant Business of Performance Materials (PMA) in Malaysia as well as implement strategies and activities to realize the mid and long-term objectives of the business unit.

Description

Sales & Application Development

Explores, identifies and develops new businesses.

In-depth understanding of customer needs, industry drivers, unique selling points in order to recommend the best solution(s), leading to the achievement of value creation for the customers and BASF

Concludes business contracts and maintain business growth at designated customers.

Provides accurate sales forecasting.

Contributes to development and implementation of segment, application, product and customer strategies to achieve sales targets.

Implements pricing strategy and supports launch of new products at key customers.

Organize and conduct customer events such as Seminar, Technology Day and Technical Workshop for strategic customers to generate new business opportunities.

Provides prompt response related to quality, technical and application inquiries and other customer related issues.

Conducts studies and analysis on market trend, competitors, products’ applications and technology.

Manages and develops new business opportunities with Global Key Account (GKA).

Conducts studies and analysis on market trend, competitors, products’ applications and technology.

Japanese Transplant Business (JTT) & Key Account Management

Manages, develops and grows sales at key account as appropriately assigned.

Leads projects and establishes relationship with key stakeholders at key account locally to drive business growth. Implement key account plan in close co-operation with regional JTT leaders.

Supports regional JTT team by providing customer information, price recommendation and competitors’ activities.

Defines annual budget (Volume, Net Sales, CM1).

Implements pricing policy at account.

Defines, controls and tracks Account plan (if applicable).

Requirements

Bachelors' Degree in Engineering/Science/Business Administration or Marketing

5-7 years of commercial/sales experience in the plastics and chemical industries.

Open to consider individuals with sales experience in rubber or medical device industry.

Strong knowledge on engineering plastics, technical know-how and applications as well as plastics parts and components manufacturing.

Excellent communication skills and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Flexible to travel across Malaysia
