The Roles:

Marketing & Business Development

  • Identify new markets to be tapped for the Company,
  • Develop new business from existing clientele, review of current business sources


  • Attend to the business development process, preparation of appropriate quotations, renewal process, credit control and collection
  • Attend to all enquiries from the clients, visit client regularly to achieve the objectives of developing and maintenance the business from the business sources

Main Responsibility:

1. Ensure achieving top line target

Drive business through the relevant channels
Identify new market to be tapped for the Company, develop new business from existing clientele, review of current business sources with the view of providing professional advice from time to time
Ensure portfolio mix is as per Company policy

2. Ensure achieving bottom line target

  • Control loss ratios and keep cost of acquisition at optimum levels
  • Maintaining Net Combined Ratio of the Channels
  • Ensure profitability of the channels via quality business / portfolio mix.
  • Grow the business profitability and scalability

3. Driving market agency & distribution channel

  • Build a productive agents network with balance retail & corporate portfolio
  • Responsible for liaison, recruitment of agents and expansion of network
  • Track Agents / clients’ productivity & profitability
  • Leveraging the business through training initiatives and its delivery
  • Work closely with Branch Manager on sales activities and initiatives

4. Premium collection

  • Ensure the branches’ premium collection is on time and is in accordance to Company policy / guidelines
  • Strive to achieve 0 bad debts tolerance level

5. Support & execute sales campaign and activities for the Channels

  • Support the sales campaign, initiatives and activities by promoting it to the agents and ensure achieve the sales target
  • Assist in the development of new products, if necessary

6. Corporate governance and compliance to guidelines and policies

  • Compliance with the regulatory requirement and internal guidelines and policies

7. Expenses management / cost containment

  • Ensure that marketing expenses are keep within allocation budget (including entertainment expenses)



  • Degree/Master in quantitative discipline such as Finance, Economics, Statistics, Insurance, Risk Management
  • Preferably completion of professional insurance qualification. E.g. AMII, ACII, DMII or equivalent insurance qualifications.


  • At least 3 years of experience with global insurers
  • Exposure to multiple insurance businesses/models and across markets
  • Some specializations in one or more areas in distribution, specific markets, products. Operations, etc.
  • Experience in leading functional teams in business/strategy development, performance review/ monitoring, sales or general management.

  • Ability to work with multicultural project teams and to foster a good work environment
  • Ability to multi-task, plan effectively and meet deadlines
  • Very good ability to strategize and drive execution
  • Very strong analytical/numerical skills

  • Potential to take up senior management roles in the future
  • Ability and interest to lead and develop junior team members
