Principal Construction/Commissioning Engineer - Malaysia

Wood is currently looking for a Construction Engineer to join us. He / She will provide Construction input to each phase (Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, Construction and Hook-up and Commissioning) of all project activities.
  • Adhere to the Company Health, Safety, Environment, & Quality policies.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of all front-end construction input / monitoring performance data throughout the project execution phase and for ensuring the effective expedition of work scope / work pack and associated closeout(s).
  • Assist in the development of a robust work process between Engineering, Procurement and the Construction Contractor to ensure that field activities can be planned and implemented in a safe and consistent manner.
  • Attend kick-off meetings, constructability review meetings and scheduled meetings organised by the Delivery Team Project Engineers
  • Ensure the accuracy of all project specific planning / scheduling data / resourcing etc in conjunction with the construction contractor
  • Ensure the accuracy of data input through effective liaison with the Project engineers and Contract Construction Engineers during the preparation of Work packs and Job Cards.
  • Assisting in the development of a suitable WBS and CTR structure for each project that is adhered to by projects, engineering, procurement and construction.
  • Oversee, and review, the compilation of the project work packs, detailed construction Job Cards and ITR’s prepared by the Construction Contractor as required.
Skills / Qualifications

  • Mechanical or Civil Engineering Degree
  • 10 years’ experience in similar roles
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • At least 15 years’ experience in upstream Oil and Gas projects
  • Offshore Work Experience in a construction role essential
  • Ability to work in a multi-discipline and cultural environment is important.
  • The ability to prioritise work to meet company deadlines is essential.
