Role synopsis

The Performance Analyst is an essential member of the Finance Malaysia/Singapore Team, which is responsible for the performance management, reporting and control of the business operating units in Malaysia and Singapore. The successful candidate will be directly involved in supporting the businesses for Malaysia / Singapore. He or she must be performance biased, have strong accounting, analytical and IT skills and the ability to communicate effectively.

Key accountabilities

  1. Pro-active engagement with Sales & Marketing / Supply Chain Management to support performance of the business.
  2. Preparation and reporting of Management Information (MI), including managing the close process, submission of financial performance results via internal MI system (SAPBPC), variance analysis and MI commentaries.
  3. Ensure effective financial systems, robust financial controls and compliance with standards, including review of the Balance Sheet Integrity (BSI), ensure robust costing process in compliance with Product Transfer Pricing, review of Slow Moving/Obsolete products and Segregation of Duty mitigation, complete fixed assets sighting cycle and adherence to Minimal Control Expectation.
  4. Responsible for the development of annual budgets, forecasts and strategic plan through working closely with the sales & marketing / supply chain teams and functional management, to coordinate the consolidation and submission.
  5. Business analysis, including fact-finding, financial modeling, sensitivity & “what-if” analysis, feasibility study, investment appraisal and creative solutions with applications such as JD Edwards, Business Intelligence Global Standards, SAPBPC and MI dashboard.
  6. Assist in coordinating the collation and analysis of data in response to the Regional / ad-hoc inquiries, developments and requirements.

Essential Education

A university degree (in either of accounting, commerce, economics, trade etc.) or professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA).

Essential experience and job requirements

Fluency in spoken and written English is a key requirement of the role.
Minimum of 7 years of relevant Accounting & Finance experience covering areas of business performance management, financial accounting and reporting, business planning and financial control is required. The post-holder must have a high degree of analytical skills, numerical skills and commercial awareness. Experience in an operations or business role would have an added advantage.
The post-holder is able to interact effectively with different levels both within and outside the countries. The post-holder must be self-confident, pro-active, highly performance driven, able to work with little supervision on long term tasks and highly focused on delivery. Ability to manage conflicting priorities is essential.
