  • Job Description
    Provide general accounting transaction processing support, general ledger master data maintenance, fixed assets and project accounting processing and ensure delivery quality in terms of accuracy, completeness and timeliness on a daily basis.
    Co-ordinate & execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate closure of accounts in accordance with work instructions and month end close checklist.
    Prepare month-end, quarter-end, year-end and statutory financial reports for BASF group companies across Asia Pacific region on timely, accurate and complete basis. This would include reports for group reporting, internal management reporting, statutory reporting as well as any agreed ad hoc reports required e.g. audit schedules, tax schedules etc.
    Perform analytical review of financial statements, trend analysis, cost centre checks and transaction posting checks.
    Trouble shoot to resolve issues & queries related to General Accounting & Reporting processes in a timely, responsible and proactive manner by collaborate with relevant stakeholders and external parties.
    Perform back up function and other duties as assigned, including job rotation to other functional teams as and when required.
    Ensure all work processes are compliance to BASF Group guidelines/policies, local company legal and statutory requirements.           
    Ensure all work documentation and work processes are updated and meet with Internal Control and ISO requirements.
    Participate in any compliance audits and respond to audit queries.
    Identify, recommend and implement solutions in consultation with superiors for continuous improvement opportunities in the areas of operation.
    Assist and support in the implementation of project initiatives e.g. Continuous Improvements, Internal Control, Six Sigma, Balance Scorecard etc.
    Assist to ensure effective knowledge transfer as for sustainable development of knowledge and sharing of best practices within the team thereby ensuring quality is maintained.
    Contribute inputs to establish a knowledge database of work problems encountered and steps for resolution to facilitate continuous learning, development and cross sharing of knowledge throughout General Accounting & Reporting team.

    Job Requirement
    University degree in finance and accounting or business studies; and/or
    Chartered or Certified Professional Accountant or equivalent

    Working Experience:
    Minimum 2 years experiences in general accounting or other accounting functions. Competent candidates with lesser years of experience are considerable.
    Preferably experience working in SAP system or other major ERP system’s work environment
    Experience in a shared service or business process outsourcing engagement will be an added advantage.
    Experience working in a MNC or Malaysian Public listed company preferred.

    Technical & Professional Knowledge:
    Knowledge and understanding of General Accounting & Reporting and other accounting functions
    Knowledge and experience of MS office tools
    Proficiency in English and other language required with good communication skill
