Python Engineer for a production support/managed services role within a long-term engineering transformation program covering Australia and New Zealand. You will bring strong Python capability and hands-on Apache Airflow experience, support business-critical applications across the portfolio, resolve production issues, participate in an on-call rotation, and progressively adopt an AI-enabled SDLC using tools like GitHub Copilot.

Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance and maintain Python-based applications and workflows, including solutions using Apache Airflow
- Orchestrate and monitor pipelines using Apache Airflow to improve reliability and visibility
- Investigate issues, restore service during incidents and complete root-cause follow-ups
- Deliver KTLO support, maintenance and continuous improvements across multiple applications
- Collaborate with product and engineering stakeholders to clarify priorities and dependencies
- Apply problem-solving to assess change impacts, risks and operational tradeoffs
- Contribute to modern agile delivery within balanced cross-functional teams
- Participate in on-call support coverage as needed to meet operational requirements
Requirements
- Python proficiency with hands-on delivery of production-grade services or pipelines
- Hands-on Apache Airflow experience, including development, orchestration, troubleshooting and production support of workflows
- Managed services or production support exposure including incident response and service improvement
- Clear communication for working with stakeholders and distributed teams
- Adaptability to context switch across applications and competing operational priorities
Nice to have
- Java exposure as a secondary skill
- AWS exposure is a plus
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot
- Experience working with Scrum or Kanban delivery practices
- Spec-Driven Development (SDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD) experience
