Overview
The Regional Risk Manager / Assistant Manager will support the Head of Regional Risk in driving the direction and strategy of risk practices across Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong, and Cambodia. This highly analytical and seasoned risk professional will lead and manage the risk and regulatory environment for the regions mentioned, serving as a key voice that guides the business on crucial risk-return strategies, ensuring full compliance with the firm’s Risk Appetite and regulatory mandates. This role involves the deployment and optimization of robust regional risk policies from operational, credit, market, liquidity and technology risk pillars (amongst others) and reporting structures to ensure the comprehensive management of emerging and forward-looking risks.
Responsibilities
- Regional Risk Strategy & Execution: Support the Head of Regional Risk to define and implement the strategic direction for risk management practices across Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong, and Cambodia, ensuring alignment with Group standards and local regulatory requirements.
- Control Environment Leadership: Oversee, manage, and continuously optimize the regional risk and regulatory environment. Serve as the primary subject matter expert, providing guidance to the business on critical risk-return decisions related to operational, credit, market, liquidity and technology risk areas (amongst others).
- Policy Deployment & Compliance: Lead the deployment and maintenance of robust regional risk policies, ensuring comprehensive adherence to the firm’s defined Risk Appetite and full compliance with all multi-jurisdictional regulatory mandates.
- Risk Modeling, Stress Testing & Reporting Optimization: Drive the implementation and refinement of advanced risk modeling/ stress testing techniques and reporting structures to ensure the effective capture, assessment, and forward-looking management of emerging risks across all regional portfolios.
- Stakeholder Risk Advisory: Act as the senior analytical professional responsible for synthesizing complex risk data into actionable intelligence, providing strategic counsel to regional leadership and relevant committees.
Skills & Experience We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance / Economics / Accounts or equivalent.
- Candidates who are FRM/ PRM certified are preferred, including those which have passed the initial paper(s).
- 6 years & above or of relevant experience in the banking/ finance/ insurance industry (e.g., enterprise risk management, audit, compliance), with proven experience managing multi-jurisdictional risk, regulatory and compliance frameworks in Asia, focusing on Singapore, Hong Kong, Cambodia and Vietnam.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis and presentation tools, including Excel (e.g., pivot tables) and PowerPoint, is highly preferred.
- Deep and thorough understanding of regional regulatory landscapes within the operating territories.
- Able to work independently and have experience in managing a small team in a fast paced environment
