Responsible for evaluating existing processes and configuring manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve quality and sustainability; and develop best practices within the manufacturing process.
Job Description
- Plan and coordinate manufacturing processes, as well as evaluate and improve manufacturing methods to maximize efficiency and profitability.
- Apply principles of engineering, manufacturing technology and management science to the manufacturing process in order to make it as efficient as possible.
- Implement cost-savings initiatives that remove non-value-added steps from the process, consequently saving time and money without impacting the quality of the finished product.
- Research product requirements and manufacturing methods in order to develop, design, modify and improve manufacturing processes.
- Gathers data quantifying process efficiency, analyses and recommends process improvements.
- Design testing methods, conduct tests, and prepare reports on efficiency, both the efficiency of products and of manufacturing processes.
- Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Participate in continuous improvements activities to improve overall safety, quality, cost and delivery performance.
- Implement statistical process analysis on new and existing products.
- Establish robust, repeatable and reproducible process parameters.
- Responsible to raise Purchase Requisition (PR) or Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) if assigned by superior as authorized member.
- Implement PDCA cycle in all activity done.
- Complete any other tasks assigned by superior.
- To ensure production continuity by support repair activity for long pending machine/unit through investigation, analysis and repair.
- To ensure production continuity by conduct TWI-JI due to frequent 4M changes in production line during daily absenteeism.
- To ensure production quality by support setup, in line checking and patrol for quality improvement activity.
- To ensure production continuity by minimize line downtime through support repair and maintenance activity for production related equipment, tools and jigs.
Requirements
- Qualification : Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management or related technical degree.
- Experience : Preferable 1 year engineering related experience, with exposure to process improvement functions in a manufacturing environment.
- Working experience on analytical methodologies, eg DOE, FMEA, SPC, Lean Manufacturing, etc is preferred.
- Skill: Knowledge in Statistical Process Control and Design of Experiment. Strong technical skills and be an excellent analytical thinker. Skilled in computer technology.
- Language: Be effectively bilingual in English and Malay with superior communication. Ability to communicate in Japanese is an added advantage.
