Responsibility and Accountability & Authority
- Improve and maintain product formulations to meet customer requirements, industry standards,
- and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate and approve raw materials, alternative materials, and suppliers from a technical
- perspective.
- Conduct laboratory investigations, product testing, validation, and performance evaluations of
- insulating varnishes and related materials.
- Initiate and coordinate product improvement, cost reduction, and process enhancement
- projects.
- Prepare, review, and maintain technical documents including product formulations, test
- methods, work instructions, and technical reports.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, testing laboratories, certification bodies, and regulatory
- authorities on technical matters.
- Support customer qualification activities, product approvals, audits, and technical presentations.
- Support management systems and certification activities including ISO requirements and
- customer audits.
- Maintain confidentiality and control of proprietary formulations, technical know-how, and
- intellectual property.
- Ensure compliance with external stakeholders such as Underwriters Laboratories.
- Liaise with other group sites to ensure global standards are met throughout the business.
- Other duties / responsibilities as assigned by the directors and general manager.
Competency Training, Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science,
- Industrial Chemistry, or a related technical discipline. Master's Degree is an added advantage.
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, coatings, resins, varnishes, or
- related industries.
- Experience in product formulation, process optimization, and technical troubleshooting.
- Experience dealing with customers, suppliers, and technical audits.
- Able to make sound technical decisions based on data, standards, and business requirements.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other software skills required.
- Able to communicate in Bahasa Malaysia, English and Mandarin.
- Able to work independently under minimal supervision.
