Construction Manager

Position: Construction Manager (Wet Works / Reinforced Concrete)

Job Location: Project Site (Johor)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead and coordinate site execution for reinforced concrete and wet-trade subcontract works. The role focuses on managing structure progress, manpower planning, coordination with main contractors and consultants, and ensuring timely delivery of subcontract packages according to project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Site Execution & Coordination

Manage daily execution wet-trade works at site

Coordinate closely with main contractor’s project team on work sequence and scheduling

Ensure compliance with approved drawings, method statements, and specifications

Resolve site coordination issues between structure, M&E openings, and architectural interfaces

Programme & Productivity Control

Plan manpower, machinery, and material requirements based on construction schedule

Monitor site productivity and ensure works meet programme milestones

Identify delays and implement corrective actions with site team

Coordinate concrete pours, formwork cycles, and reinforcement installation progress

Subcontractor & Workforce Management

Supervise site supervisors, foremen, and subcontract gangs

Ensure proper deployment of workers to achieve planned output

Monitor subcontractor performance and workmanship quality

Coordinate material delivery and site logistics with suppliers

Quality Control

Ensure works comply with consultant specifications and inspection requirements

Coordinate with QA/QC personnel on inspections and approvals before casting

Monitor workmanship standards for wet trades such as plastering, brickwork, screeding, and related works

Safety & Compliance

Enforce site safety requirements in accordance with DOSH regulations

Work closely with Safety Officer to maintain safe working conditions

Ensure workers comply with PPE and site safety procedures

Progress Reporting & Documentation

Prepare site progress updates for management and main contractor meetings

Track progress against planned structure cycle targets

Assist with verification of site progress for interim claims submission

Maintain proper site documentation and records

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years experience in reinforced concrete or wet-trade construction works
• Experience working with main contractors as subcontractor site representative is preferred
• Able to manage site supervisors, workers, and subcontract gangs effectively
• Familiar with inspection procedures
• Able to read construction drawings confidently
• Willing to be based at project site
