Leadership's okay, but middle management needs training
Pros: Senior leadership at this mid-sized tech company generally has a clear vision for our tech solutions. They're good at communicating big-picture goals, which helps us as Software Engineers understand where we're headed. The strategy for product development feels solid.
Cons: It's tough with some team leads and middle managers; they often lack specific direction for project work, especially with hybrid work setups. There's not enough mentorship, and it makes daily tasks harder for us in the software development teams. Some decisions feel disconnected from the ground level.
Advice to Management: Invest more in leadership training for mid-level managers. They need better skills for guiding teams and providing clear technical direction for software development projects. Improve communication channels between senior and project-level leadership. Show more
