Key Responsibilities:

 

Security Planning

 

• Identify the major facilities and security equipment requirements for the department and the property.
• Ensure correct maintenance of all equipment in conjunction with the Chief Engineer & stay abreast of technological advances in surveillance & safety equipment.

 

People Management

 

• Provide effective support to the team to enable them to deliver effective and efficient services.
• Respond to customer queries by resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Motivate and develop staff to ensure smooth functioning of the department.

Financial Management

 

• Ensure optimal, cost effective use of the resources and educate the team on the same.

   Operational Management

 

• Coordinate operations with Department Associates, Team Leaders and other Departmental Managers to ensure operational readiness, efficiency in resource utilization, and the prompt delivery of services.
• Coordinate all investigations regarding theft or damage of property & personnel injury occurring within the premises with outside agencies & legal representatives.
• Ensure that Daily Activity Report reflects a true account of all security activities that take place during the day.
• Ensure to offer special protection to VIPs and Government Dignitaries.
• Ensure to have thorough knowledge of the laws of arrest, search and seizure and also with the investigation techniques in case of an inquiry.
• Ensure that all security operations are in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
• Ensure that fire prevention and safety procedures are maintained in all areas of the hotel.
• Liaise with local Police, Fire Brigade and other Government agencies and maintain public relations with them to ensure their complete co-operation.
• To handle guest complaints pertaining to security.

Store Hours 0800-2000hrs (Mon - Sat) 1000-1600hrs (Sun)

This role would be ideal for a security professional who has a customer service orientated approach; looking to further their working experience within a retail environment. -Utilising the store security systems, CCTV, EAS gates, etc, to support the security activity.

- Working in liaison with covert security operatives.

-Investigating any losses, empty packaging, support enquiries regarding known offenders.

-Completing full and accurate incident reports and company documentation

-Reporting Crime incidents to Crime Centre on a company provided tablet.

-Completing routine patrols of the store to ensure customer safety and maintaining a strong security presence to all members of the public.

-Recording completed patrols in daily activity sheets in liaison with the store point of contact.

-Attending the store briefings to provide a security update.

-Conducting shift handover procedures at the start and end of each shift to ensure all matters of concern or note occurring during a shift are passed on for the purposes of service and incident management continuity.

Job Overview

-To protect our customer's property, people and/or assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the sites published Assignment Instructions (AI's) and any subsequent changes.

-Delivering results that meet and / or exceed the Key performance indicators / Service Level Agreement for the customer through full responsibility and accountability, providing a service that aids in the retention of the contract.

-To undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development.

Main Duties

Operations

-To be aware of and ensure compliance with all aspects of policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK Law and Guidance bodies.

-Fully and satisfactorily complete all of the tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AI's).

-Proactively refer to and review the published Assignment Instructions, thus familiarising oneself with any changes in order to suggest additional amendments that will improve or enhance the current level of service.

-To be compliant with Industry and Statutory Legislation (you are required to obtain a front-line licence in either Security Guarding or Door Supervision), which must be worn at all times whilst carrying out your duties. The Customer also requires a CCTV PSS SIA Licence. There are also additional courses that are contractually required.

-Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.

-Follow instructions and procedures appropriately without unnecessarily challenging authority.

-Work in a systematic, methodology and orderly way.

Training

-Fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training.

-To undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development as directed by the Security Account Manager.

-Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development.

-You are required to ensure you renew your licence 16 weeks before expiry.

Security and Health & Safety

-Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.

-Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment in order to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.

-Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.

-To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.

-Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.

-Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.

-To ensure check calls are being carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions (AI's).

-To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.

We are currently recruiting a Security Officer to work on a high-profile site in Whitby.

This exciting opportunity will allow you to work on a busy mining site, with a high standard of security needing to be met at all times. If you are in the security industry or are looking for a career change, then this would be perfect for you! We will offer on-site training, as well as career development too.

The rate of pay is £11.84 per hour.


This is a full-time position benefiting from a 42 hour per week contract working a combination of days, nights and weekends.



Please note, due to the requirements of this role you must hold a Full, Clean UK Driving License.

Your Time at Work
As a Security Officer, you are more than a Security Guard. You'll ensure the safety of our customers' staff, their buildings, and assets, whilst providing excellent customer service with a smile. We pride ourselves on delivering excellent customer service in a safe and secure environment.



Other duties will include:

- Greeting staff and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Ensuring everyone follows the security and safety protocols of the site
- Monitoring access / egress to site
- Completing site inductions
- First Aid response
- Administration of drug and alcohol testing
- Completing routine patrols by foot and by vehicle
- Dealing with any security incidents on site and completing relevant incident report forms

Our Perfect Worker
You will need to be aged 18 or over, a confident communicator who is a team player with the drive to provide a friendly and professional service at all times. Good IT knowledge is also key.


It would be a benefit to have some security experience and your SIA license, however, it's not essential, as we provide full SIA (Security Industry Authority) license training.
