Job Description:
- To manage and lead the function of R&D Dept. Managing assigned R&D Projects & Activities from development of formulation, prototype, specification, labelling information, processing’s critical and quality parameters & establishing relevant process SOP, quality criteria, shelf-life determination and product stability validation, formulation issuance to Core Centre, factory trials until commercial production for market launch and improvement.
- To work with relevant departments on product costings for New Product Development.
- To review and verify trial run, thermal processing validation, shelf-life validation protocol and report, sensory evaluation report and cooking instructions (if printed on label/package) validation report.
- To review and verify Hazards analysis and risk-based assessment for new material/ingredient, new processing steps involved in NPD. Further, to conduct sensory evaluation, food tasting & application tests.
- To work closely with Marketing and Production teams on NPD projects and, provide technical advice/concern on product regulatory compliance for intended country of Sale and targeted market.
- To securely manage confidential R&D documentation, company intellectual property, and properly maintain all NPD records & technical document according to company policies.
- To participate in HALAL, HACCP and ISO22000 audit discussion as and when necessary.
- To provide timely report to management.
- To perform any ad-hoc duties assigned by the management.
Requirements:
- Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or other related subjects.
- Have a good understanding of ingredient functionality and inter relationship of ingredients, process, and packaging.
- Well-verse in Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, and English.
- Good at analytical and technical skills. Good knowledge in food safety and regulation is a plus.

Harmony Marine Products Sdn. Bhd. was established in Malaysia, in 1990. We have extensive experience and expertise in seafood processing industry. Our raw seafood products are sourced and imported primarily from Asia Pacific: i.e. Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Russia, South America and Africa.
Harmony Marine Products' headquarter has a modern factory facility that is (HACCP) Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points certified. Our facility includes a receiving area, processing plant, container loading bays, seafood drying chamber, a 5,000sq ft warehouse space and, another 3,000sq ft of cold room facility that is equipped with multi-layer racking system.
We process and supply a variety of premium quality and value-added seafood products for domestic and overseas markets, such as Sea Cucumber, Fish Maw, Abalone and Shark Fin. We currently export our products to China, Korea, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, North American and Europe.
