E. Quality Assurance & Training

• Ensure a high level of competence in the required skills amongst service staff by providing continuing training and practical assistance & guidance in the field.

• Ensure that all customer complaints are attended to within 24 hours.
• Ensure that Service Supervisors duties are audited monthly.
• Ensure that each Service Technician is audited at least once every 2 months.

F. Health & Safety

• To ensure that all chemicals are handled, store and applied with due regard to the safety standards laid down within the Company, and that staff are never exposed to untoward risks in the course of their work.
• To ensure that all service vehicles are roadworthy & safe through a monthly inspection.

Position Objective:

PgP1/EPP is the plant product engineering department for Robert Bosch Car Multimedia in Penang. In general, PgP1/EPP provides dedicated product technical support to the production in our Penang plant and acts as an interface between the product development and production. Furthermore, our section supports failure investigation for line failures of the products as well as customer complaint investigation training. The focus is on these three domains of the product technology:

Job Responsibilities:

• As Lead and Product Owner for a product family, responsible to coordinate, address & solve all product technical issues arise from manufacturing environment until product end of life (EOL).
• To drive for First Pass Yield (F.P.Y) improvement activities in the plant to ensure target achieved.
• To support to provide the breakpoint during Engineering Change Notice (ECN) cut in, data mining when there is issue rise and also to lead and coordinate the team in cross functional together to resolve the issue rise and also to lead and coordinate the team in cross functional together to resolve the issue.
• To be the first layer person to deal with the Pre-delivery Inspection (PDI), Customer complaint (0KM), field failure topic related to process issue with Plant Quality (QMM) or any extended work bench. To liaise with product engineering group for (TF) true failure & liaise with TEF for (NTF) not true failure study and root cause determination.
• Responsible to analyze and investigate Fall Out Rate (FOR) from production lines, identify root-cause or issue owner and follow-up measures to eliminate line FOR issues.
• To issue the component related topic to Part Quality Assurance (PQA) and follow up closely of the issue with PQA until closure.
• Provide technical support to QMM in Failure Analysis (FA) including 0km and field return analysis and perform the internal investigation on process related topic.
• Responsible to raise “Quality Alert” / “Perhatian” as for containment action whenever quality issues arise and complain by customer and also to ensure provide briefing and training to production. To control and monitor “Perhatian” database is necessary.
• Responsible to raise Problem Solving Sheet (PSS) to problem owner for systematically to identify and solve the problem which related to assembly processes, testing related, as well as machines / jigs downtime in final assembly and do follow up meeting with core team members.
• As part of centralization for creating trial order whenever there is need on release new HW or SW that required for trial before implement to production. To do follow and ensure all trial orders are fulfill and closure.
• To maintain and sustain debug documents whenever is necessary and new information update if needed. Debug guideline is document that described the details on the steps to perform troubleshooting for failure parts during production processes / testing. Assembling/dismantling of parts with proper guidelines and also guideline for repairing.
• To be key driver in problem solving on quality issues encountered in final assembly operations which include PDI, 0 km defects as well as field failures.
• Support in preparation of technical presentation material to management and customer. Co-operate with other relevant departments in plant, to meet section goals and objectives. Provide support in engineering change, 8D reports related to plant.
• To control and manage both Incoming Part Quality Check (IPQC) / Outgoing Quality Assurance (OQA) activities to ensure both activities been handled in correct and effective way.

About the Position  

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced scientist to lead a work package focused on scaling incentive-based conservation of marine ecosystems in Bangladesh, Tanzania and Mozambique.  

As a work package leader, you will be responsible for the successful implementation of the work package and managing sub-partners. In addition, you will conduct research to generate scientific knowledge and develop innovative solutions to address ecosystem conservation using incentive-based systems.  

As a work package leader, you will report directly to the Project Leader, providing regular updates on progress, challenges, and risks within their work packages.  

You will also collaborate with the other work package leaders, the Project Coordinator, and other team members to ensure effective coordination and integration across work packages. 

Key Responsibilities   

• Conduct Research on Incentive-Based Conservation of Marine Ecosystems:  Design and implement research on various incentive-based systems for marine ecosystem conservation.  Use scientific methodologies and data analysis techniques to gather insights and identify key intervention areas. 
• Assessment of Preferences for Incentive Packages:  Employ choice modeling or other stated-preference techniques to evaluate preferences for different incentive packages among stakeholders.

• Designing Incentive-Based Fisheries Management:  Develop frameworks for incentive-based fisheries management that align with conservation goals and stakeholder needs. 
• Designing Sustainable Financing Mechanisms:  Create sustainable financing models to support long-term conservation and fisheries management initiatives. 
• Conservation adaptation and innovation: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify opportunities for adapting existing conservation programs in the local context. Work closely with stakeholders, including fisher’s groups, women's groups in rural coastal areas, to co-design and pilot innovative solutions for marine conservation.  
• Evaluate and optimize projects: Assess the effectiveness and feasibility of different incentive-based ecosystem conservation pilot programs. Analyse data and evaluate the performance of pilot projects to identify the most promising practices. Provide recommendations for further optimization and scaling. 
• Collaboration and partnerships: Engage with public and private sector partners to foster collaboration and leverage resources for research and innovation. Collaborate with other scientists, institutions, and organizations working in the field to enhance synergies and maximize the impact of research efforts. 
• Knowledge dissemination: Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences to contribute to the scientific knowledge base in the field of incentive-based conservation. Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to share research outcomes and best practices, fostering knowledge exchange and capacity building. 
• Perform other relevant duties as requested by the supervisor(s). 

The successful candidate will have: 

• Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., marine conservation, environmental management, or related disciplines). 

• Strong research background and experience in designing and implementing studies related to incentives, marine conservation, preferably in developing countries. 
• Previous experience in marine conservation and research studies related to agriculture or aquaculture. 
• Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research methods, data analysis, and statistical tools. 
• Excellent scientific writing skills and ability to publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals. 
• Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively disseminate research outcomes and engage with stakeholders. 
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

This is an Internationally Recruited Staff (IRS) position with annual salary ranging between USD 81,600 - USD 96,000 per annum (for Senior Scientist level) and USD 47,900 – USD 69,700 per annum (for Scientist level). About the Position  

The accountant (Accounts Payable) is an integral part of WorldFish’s Financial Services Unit. The function is responsible for issuing payments to WorldFish’s commercial suppliers, consultants, partners, and collaborators. It is also responsible for ensuring that system controls and financial policies are fulfilled before payments are made, and expenses/liabilities are booked. Therefore, this function is immensely important, and the accountant will be exposed to multiple front-end processes such as Procurement, Grants & Contracts and Treasury /Banking.

Key Responsibilities 

Responsible for the day-to-day task execution of the Accounts Payable function within Finance:

• The accountant shall ensure that all entries into the systems (including bank portals) are authorized, complete and accurate; and payments are made on a timely basis.
• Accurate banking information of vendors/partners/consultants/staff are duly captured and updated in their system profiles & bank payment portal.
• Preparation of payment vouchers and checks/TT Forms.
• System invoice & payment registrations.

1. Payments are made to vendors, consultants, partners & employees in a timely manner.
2. Payment requests from Country Offices are duly processed for payment (from HQ).

• Follow up with procurement to clear any issues in the P2P process.
• Work with Treasury function to ensure that there is adequate fund for payments to vendors, service providers, partners and collaborators & staff via telegraphic transfers or checks.
• Assist the Financial Services Unit in various projects to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency, including the establishment of centralized invoice receipt, automated batch payment runs and periodical compliance reporting. 
• Facilitate the annual financial audit of WorldFish, as well as other project audits (which include the analysis and follow-up of AP balances).
• Manage AP Mailbox & follow up AP issues in AP mailbox.
• Compile relevant tax invoices to claim the tax refund from the Royal Malaysian Customs (SST). The incumbent shall ensure that all tax invoices are filed systematically to enable easy retrieval and audit.

Accounts Reconciliation and Analysis

• Reconcile AP Control Accounts (Vendors, Partners and Consultants) in the GL to Sub-ledger balances every month. Investigate and resolve the open items within 30 days as well as provide the necessary support and liaise with Country Offices/Local Finance Teams for the purpose and escalation if necessary.
• Perform tracking and analytical review on the age of payable balances.
• Aged payable balances are duly settled/paid and cleared from the GL or reconciled to Sub-ledger balances every month.
• Expenses and liabilities as at each month-end are duly recorded as at the cut-off date and time (for reporting purposes).
• Perform any re-classification request by Project Accountant.
• Verified & Reconciled Account Statement given by Vendor. 
• Ensure all posting to the realized and unrealized forex codes are correct, timely and accurate.  

Month-end Close Deliverables (including Year-end Close)

• Ensure that payments are made in accordance with published Payment Schedules throughout the year and ensure that the distinction between advances / deposits / prepayments and expenses are consistently applied.
• Ensure no duplicate booking of expenses particularly across fiscal years and advances / accruals / provisions are reversed / utilized accordingly.
• Ensure invoice registration (expense recognition) deadlines meet month-end/year-end close timelines i.e. expenses must be approved / posted before the Overhead program runs.
• Track and monitor the following GL accounts to ensure expense liquidations or payroll-offset are made on a timely basis in the system.
• Advances to Vendors/Consultants/Partners.
• Collaborate with IT and other process owners (such as Procurement/Receiving or HR).
• The Procure-to-Pay process is coherent, and all in-built controls in the system are followed.
• Liaise with Procurement to ensure that all invoices are duly sent to Finance for invoice registration before each month-end/year-end.
• Work with Treasury to fully utilize the functionalities of Bank Payment Portal/BACS for improvement in payment processing and increased productivity.
• Perform manual matching of liquidation.

Other

• Support to ensure closure of accounting issues in Regional Offices.
• Develops and maintains good relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Performs any other reasonable duties as may be required from time to time.
• Compile/Scanning/Filing physical documents.
• Handling and organizing OneDrive AP folder.
• Support in Supplier Creation. 
• Manage the operation of the OCS Remittance system in countries where it is deployed. 
• Response to any enquiries, confirmation about invoice, supporting document payment from staff and vendor.

The successful candidate will have: 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar and a qualified Chartered Accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). Part-qualification may be considered with strong work experience.
• Minimum 3 years of progressive post qualification relevant experience aligned to the key responsibilities for this role.
• At least 2 years working in a similar role with demonstrated experience particularly for month and year end processing.
• Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Experience of working with teams across geographical borders.
• Excellent command of English language – both written and verbal.
• Able to relay complex financial information to non-finance colleagues in a manner easily understood by all.
• Be highly analytical and able to solve complex problems.
• Organized and forward thinking; seeking continuous improvement in systems and processes.

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Experience working in a donor funded organization.
• Working knowledge of an ERP software system (e.g. Oracle, SAP, Agresso) would be an advantage.
