The Regional Supply Planner is managing customer service levels and inventories by planning the supply of (semi-) finished goods from the factories towards the receiving factories or logistic warehouses taking into account the capacity restrictions and material availability.

The Regional Supply Planner is part of the Regional Supply Chain organization supporting the Marketing & Sales Unit. Supply Chain is part of the Operations function which aims to ensure the integration of all key business processes from supplier to customers, providing products, services and information that add value for customers and stakeholders. Operations manages sourcing, procurement, manufacturing, supply chain (supply chain planning, customer service, warehousing and logistics ) and ensures optimal alignment between demand and supply at a global scale, taking into account efficiency, required flexibility, security of supply and considering costs, working capital, quality levels, service levels, company and society values.

Goal and key accountabilities

1. Ensure Supply of the right volume at the right time so that customers can be delivered in time in full by creating a weekly Capacity- and Production plan. Take into account market requirements, capacity utilization, and materials availability to ensure an optimal inventory position of (semi-) finished goods.
2. Coordinate the Supply with various stakeholders including Manufacturing, Demand Planning, Procurement, New Product Development, and Finance. As part of cross-functional project teams, new product introductions and phase-out of old products have to be managed.
3. Drive the monthly local Supply IBP meeting and participate in the Regional Supply meeting.
4. Lead scenario development and decision-making for capacity assessments.
5. Drive continuous improvement by monitoring the daily and weekly performance and defining actions to improve.

Responsibilities

• For the short term create on a weekly base the weekly production plan for the Factory considering capacity restrictions, material availability, safety stock settings and customer demand. The volumes per SKU per week will be handed over to the Factory Production Scheduler.
• Coordinate changes in the fixed horizon impacting the volumes per SKU per week for (semi-) finished goods. The changes can be caused by unexpected material shortages, out-of-stock situations, rush orders, machine breakdowns, quality issues, etc.
• For the mid/term (horizon after the fixed horizon for the factory) create a capacity plan to ensure the supply in the short term for an optimal customer service level within the agreed stock levels. The capacity issues which can’t be solved with regular measures should be input for scenario development and be prepared for the monthly IBP Supply meeting.
• Define a straightforward way of working in the Supply Chain with regard to Make to Stock and Make to Order strategies. Define actions to improve in terms of costs, cash, and service targets.   
• Managing stock levels of (semi) finished goods for the short and mid/long term. Run the alert monitor to track stock alerts (shortage, below safety stock, maximum stock exceeded) and define actions to solve the alerts across Demand Planning, Factory Planning, etc.
• Approve parameters with an impact on stock levels. For the MU the MOQ and production frequency have to be approved and for the MSU (principal only) the minimum and maximum stock levels have to be approved. Also, maintain APO-specific master data in case of new products or changes in existing flows.
• Drive scenario development and decision-making for capacity assessments for the mid/long term (1-18 months), for the monthly IBP Supply meeting, for New Product Developments, for strategic capacity investments and product re-allocations in order to optimize cost, cash, and service targets.
• Plan Co-manufacturing flows (if applicable) by balancing demand versus capacity and ensuring the timely availability of components to be sent to the co-manufacturer.
• Construct the monthly Supply plan for the local IBP MU Supply meeting and the Regional Asian Supply review meeting.
• Lead projects to deliver inventory reduction for (semi-) finished goods.
• In case of supply, shortages coordinate the allocation of stock or capacity across the supply chain according to the agreed priorities.
• Coordinate phase-in phase-out projects across the MU and MSU with the objective to minimize obsolete costs and to secure the availability of the new products in time.
• Drive continuous improvement by monitoring Customer Service level, Stock levels and Production Adherence (TOP/TAP) key performance indicators. Define actions across the stakeholders in the Supply Chain to drive improvements.

• Develop maintenance job plans for work scheduling and execution by providing appropriate information, details include but are not limited to; skills required, number of technicians, estimated job duration, materials or parts requirements, special tools/ equipment, work instructions and essential safety steps
• Using established guidelines to plan and assist on preventative maintenance and reliability strategies 
• Plans all maintenance interventions in a manner that protects the quality of the product paying special attention to contamination of equipment and products by oils, fats or foreign objects (hard plastic, dirt, etc...)
• Delivers a Safe and Healthy work environment by knowing the work-related hazards and safety instructions
• Guarantees the availability of spare parts and tools for the completion of the weekly maintenance plan in collaboration with the stores and the technicians

The Material & Ingredients Planner is responsible to ensure the supply of packaging materials and ingredients to cover the demand from the factory in the short and mid/long term.

The Material & Ingredients Planner is part of the Operations function. The Operations function ensures the integration of all key business processes from supplier to customers, providing products, services, and information that add value for customers and stakeholders. The function manages the sourcing, procurement, manufacturing, supply chain (warehousing, logistics, and distribution), and planning processes and ensures optimal alignment between demand and supply at a global scale, taking into account efficiency, required flexibility, security of supply and considering costs, working capital, quality levels, service levels, company, and society values.

GOAL AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Create purchase orders for the suppliers based on the planning proposals from APO.
• Track and monitor shortages and coordinate actions to manage the supply shortage.
• Integrate the elements from the contract relevant for planning into the system and the way of working with the supplier. The contract is created and signed by Regional Procurement or Local Procurement

RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACTIVITIES

• Create Purchase Orders from the purchase requisition proposals from APO planning system. Take corrective actions in case the APO planning proposals aren’t according to expectations by improving master data settings. Make sure the availability of the goods is according to the needs of the production plan in terms of timing and volume.
• Provide guidance on production quantities or minimum and maximum stocks in case a supplier is expected to have materials or ingredients on stock for JDE. If applicable the expected volumes for the relevant planning horizon can be shared manually or automatically.
• Run the alert monitor on a daily base to track shortages. Initiate actions to manage the supply shortage and keep stakeholders informed.
• Coordinate actions in case of unexpected shortages due to quality issues, stock differences, production increases etc.
• Coordinate the return flow to a supplier in case of blocked stock.
• Define master data settings for new packaging materials or ingredients. Settings like lead time and minimum order quantity should be in line with the contracts which have been created and approved by Regional or Local Procurement.
• Monitor and track obsoletes stock in case of a phase-in phase-out project. Take actions to minimize the stock of the old materials and make sure the new materials are available in time. Inform the Regional Supply Planner (principal) or the MU Supply Planner (non-principal) about expected obsolete costs.
• Run a daily report to track open Purchase Orders with a due date in the past. The supplier should be contacted and production has to be informed in case a shortage is expected. In case a delivery from the supplier is not expected the Purchase Order should be closed.
• Report Supplier Delivery Performance and in case of underperformance inform Regional Procurement or Local Procurement. The Procurement Department will initiate actions towards the Supplier to achieve improvements.
• Monitor obsolete and slow moving stock and propose actions towards the Regional Supply Planner (principal) or the MU Supply Planner (non-principal). Execute the actions provided by the Supply Planners.
• Follow up on open invoices in case the invoice of the supplier doesn’t match the goods receipt done at the MU. Follow up with the supplier and Accounts Payable to make sure open invoices are to be paid on time.
