Job Purpose 

The Macrostrategy unit is aimed to develop and facilitate strategic direction for MDEC and the country’s digital economy collaborating primarily with external stakeholders, including Federal, State, international bodies as well as the industry sector. Essentially, the Macrostrategy unit’s key responsibility is to drive and manage various studies related to Roadmaps, Blueprints and Frameworks, working closely with external consultants and internal stakeholders where relevant. The unit is also responsible to discuss and advice various states’ efforts in digital economy via several platforms.

The Senior Executive is expected to play a key role in driving the strategic workstreams of the Macrostrategy unit. This involves contributing to the analysis, design, and implementation of approaches, developing tailor-made solutions, strategic direction and working closely with stakeholders to ensure positive impact and sustainable results for implementation. The Senior Executive is required to have a good big-picture thinking with execution in mind, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.

 
Duties & Responsibilities 

Strategic Planning:

1. Facilitate and plan Enterprise Advisory for corporate MDEC and across MDEC divisions on their strategic plans and studies which includes:

• Pre-planning phase: Facilitate initial discussions and scoping, with corporate office and MDEC Divisions and other key stakeholders in determining themes and strategic direction for the digital economy
• Planning phase: Faciliiate workshops and discussions to determine strategies and initiatives within MDEC and its stakeholders

Research & Analysis:

Ensure research is aligned to the strategic objectives of key projects and we as well as stakeholders including enterprise, Federal, State and industry stakeholders

• Conduct research and analysis on the external and internal macro-environment to be used as reference and as benchmarks to evaluate all opportunities as well as threats
• Determine and analyse information on macroeconomic and industry trends, competitor and client behaviour
• Provide insight, analysis and recommendation during planning initiatives by providing insights on current trending and future outlook
• Provide recommendation to key stakeholders for next course of action based on insights developed

Job Purpose 

1. To ensure the MSC Malaysia Status [now known as Malaysia Digital (MD) Status] companies adhere and are in compliance with the Conditions of Grant (CoG).

2. To assist, facilitate and enforce the compliance of MSC/MD Status companies within the existing MSC/MD requirements.

3. To facilitate growth and transformation of MD Status framework in regard to Approval Letter adherence in accordance to the Malaysia Digital initiative.

4. Job Purpose 

The role involves supporting MDEC’s involvement in playing an active and strategic role on international strategic platforms affecting the digital economy such as International Telecommunication Union (ITU), World Economy Forum (WEF), World Trade Organization (WTO), World Bank, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), ASEAN etc. to streamline and align MDEC priorities, overall vision, strategies and policies with the national digital aspirations.

The role includes advocating MDEC’s strategies and positions on digital policies on key international platforms to ensure efforts are more impactful, which would provide greater visibility for MDEC internationally as the lead agency for Malaysia’s Digital Economy.

 
Duties & Responsibilities 

1. To be a liaison/focal point with key international platforms related to digital economy to support and facilitate the alignment/streamlining of MDEC strategies/policies/initiatives/programmes with the respective platforms:

• Manage and facilitate MDEC’s participation and active involvement in international technical platforms such as ITU, GSMA, etc. collectively with other divisions/departments within MDEC, as well as KKD and other ministries/agencies such as MOF, MITI and MOSTI
• Facilitate syndication, engagement and coordination with strategic international economic platforms such as WEF, ASEAN, OECD, WTO, etc.
• Support discussions and negotiations with relevant stakeholders to ensure MDEC strategies/policies/initiatives/programmes are aligned or at par with the international platforms/standards accordingly

Job Purpose 

This role is responsible for two scopes which are Administration and Facility Management, to ensure effective management of the in-house and outsourced admin and building related services, contract servicing management, monitor and ensure the compliance of statutory requirements and asset management. This position guides and advocates best practices within the set guidelines of the organization to efficiently manage internal admin and facilities services, eliminates wastage and improve turnaround time for ultimate cost savings and to provide secure, safe, and conducive office environment.

Duties & Responsibilities 

1. Manage the daily, monthly, and annual activities of Admin Unit

• Perform end-to-end procurement process for each service which can either be Direct Purchase, Direct Negotiation or Tender. Prepares presentation decks and approval papers.

• Plan and execution of multiple renovation or maintenance projects to meet program requirements, budget and time constraints, and its successful execution of projects and compliance with project specifications.
• Plan best allocation and utilization of space and resources for new space, or re-organizing current premises, and its successful execution.
• Complies with procurement policies and guidelines and performs end-to-end procurement process for special projects according to latest Procurement processes (RFQ or RFP).

4. Property

• Handles tenancy related activities of all MDEC satellite offices by managing the agreements (new and renewals) and its end-to-end procurement. Prepares presentation decks and approval papers.
• Sourcing of new tenancy when required.
• Administers the budget and expenses of the rented spaces.
• Liaison person between MDEC and Landlord/Property Management.

5. Supports HoD/HoU on related work as assigned.

• Support and work closely with HoD/HoU.
  Performs other related work assigned.
   

Qualifications 

1. Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical) or in Property or Building or Facilities Management or equivalent - Extensive experience in facilities management, managing office administration, knowledge in procurement procedures, knowledge in building management, construction and handling of subordinates

Job Purpose 

This role involves working as part of a Digital Industry Development Division PMO and its purpose is to administer and monitor project and (its sub projects) through ensuring that all projects adhere to the timelines and the departments are connected to meet the ultimate goal.

The main responsibilities includes programme vision and catalytic projects development; stakeholder management; and project monitoring including milestone management; budget and risk and issue management.
