Lead the origination, structuring and comprehensive development phase of utility-scale renewable energy projects (Solar PV, Wind, BESS), ensuring technical, legal, environmental and financial viability from initial conception to RTB (Ready to Build) phase .
Main Responsibilities
1. Land Management and Territorial Control
- Design and implement the strategy for acquiring and leasing properties.
- Lead the negotiation with landowners, ejidos, communities and local stakeholders.
- Coordinate cadastral studies, property titles and easements.
2. Permitting and Regulation
- Manage the permit cycle with local, regional and national authorities (environmental studies - Environmental Impact Statement/MIA, urban planning licenses, change of land use, archaeology/INAH, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with current regulatory regulations of the local electricity market (e.g., CRE, CENACE, SEMARNAT in Mexico or their equivalents in the region).
3. Electrical Interconnection
- Follow up on the application and approval process for interconnection studies with the network operator/transmitter.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize interconnection points and evaluate evacuation infrastructure costs.
4. Community Relations and Social Management
- Design social impact strategies and prior/community consultations.
- Prevent and manage social conflicts that could jeopardize the viability of the project.
5. Technical, Economic and Overlap Management with M&A
- Coordinate with the engineering team the preliminary layouts, measurement campaigns (solar/wind resource) and geotechnical studies.
- Feed the project's financial model with accurate estimates of development CAPEX, permitting costs, and execution times.
- Manage the formal handover of the project to the Construction/Engineering team after reaching RTB status.
THE PROFILE WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Education:
- Bachelor's degree/Engineering in Renewable Energies, Civil, Industrial, Law, Economics, Environmental Sciences or related fields.
- Desirable: Master's degree or specialization in Project Management, Regulatory Law or Energy Business.
Experience:
- 5+ years of direct experience in the development of large-scale renewable projects (Solar PV, Wind or Storage/BESS).
- Proven track record of leading projects that have reached the Ready to Build (RTB) stage.
- Solid experience in negotiating lease/surface agreements and community relations.
Technical Knowledge and Skills:
- Mastery of the local electrical and environmental regulatory framework.
- Proficiency in GIS / ArcGIS / QGIS tools (desirable).
- Knowledge of the process of interconnection to the high/medium voltage network.
- Fluent English (spoken and written) — essential if it is a multinational company .
