Good learning environment, but cross-functional collaboration needs work
Pros: The team I work with at Hirayama is generally very supportive. There's a real emphasis on continuous learning and development, which is great for someone looking to build a career in HR and staffing. As a Recruitment Consultant here, I've had ample opportunity to hone my skills in candidate sourcing and client relations. The company is well-established in the Tokyo market, providing a stable work environment and exposure to diverse industries.
Cons: One area that could use significant improvement is the efficiency of communication between different departments, especially between sales and operations. This sometimes leads to project delays or misunderstandings. Additionally, while the core job is rewarding, the current tech stack for candidate management feels a bit outdated compared to industry standards, impacting our daily workflow.
Advice to Management: Consider implementing a more unified project management tool and fostering clearer communication channels between client-facing and operational teams to streamline processes and enhance overall efficiency.

A Good Place to Grow in Japanese HR Services
Pros: I appreciate the flexibility offered in my role as an HR Operations Associate. The company trusts its employees to manage their schedules effectively, which is great for maintaining a healthy work-life balance. The collaborative spirit among colleagues in the Tokyo office makes it a pleasant place to work, and learning opportunities in the staffing sector are abundant.
Cons: While flexibility is good, sometimes communication about project priorities could be clearer. There are occasional moments where team alignment on urgent tasks could be improved to ensure smoother operations. Compensation is competitive for the industry but might not always reflect the full scope of responsibilities for certain roles.
Advice to Management: Consider enhancing cross-team communication protocols and ensuring consistent recognition for diverse contributions to foster even greater employee engagement and retention within the Tokyo operations.

Production Engineer

Not much WFH for Production Engineering
Pros: You do get set break times which is decent. For those working in the Tokyo office, sometimes you can leave a bit early for appointments if you arrange it way ahead. It's a standard corporate environment.
Cons: Work from home options are pretty much non-existent, especially as a Production Engineer. We're expected onsite in the factory environment daily. Flexibility isn't a strong point in this manufacturing industry.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more remote work options, even if just a day or two a week, for roles that can support it. It's tough to attract talent without some modern flexibility.
