Key Responsibilities
- Project Management & Planning: Assist Project Managers in planning work schedules, sequencing construction activities, and forecasting resource requirements.
- Technical Oversight: Act as the main technical authority. Check technical designs, architectural drawings, and calculations for accuracy and constructability.
- Site Operations: Supervise day-to-day operations to ensure structural, civil, and architectural works are executed according to approved specifications.
- Quality & Compliance: Monitor workmanship and materials to meet regulatory standards. Process Requests for Information (RFIs), method statements, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Safety Enforcement: Work with the safety officers to ensure OSHA/DOSH safety regulations are implemented.
- Mentorship & Coordination: Guide junior site engineers. Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and authorities to streamline inspections and site logistics.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
- Experience: Typically 8+ years of hands-on site experience, often with specialized industry construction experience
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent certifications (e.g., BEM/IEM in Malaysia) are heavily preferred for senior roles.
- Skills: Proficiency in project scheduling tools (Microsoft Project, Primavera) and engineering software (AutoCAD, BIM).
- Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving under pressure, negotiation, and cross-functional team leadership
