Job Description

We are seeking a driven Sales Executive to grow our retail channel business across hypermarkets, electronics specialty stores, and pharmacies in Malaysia. You will own new account acquisition, deepen existing retail partnerships, and manage distributor/agent relationships — with a strong focus on in-store visibility — reporting directly to the Country Representative.

Key Responsibilities

1. New Business Development

  • Prospect and pitch to hypermarkets, electronics specialty stores, pharmacies, and convenience stores
  • Develop and execute retail channel expansion strategies based on market and competitor analysis
  • Lead negotiations, pricing/terms discussions, and close new retail accounts
  • Build and maintain a structured prospect pipeline with consistent follow-up

2. Account Management & Retention

  • Conduct regular client visits, maintain relationships, and identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities
  • Coordinate orders, delivery timelines, and stock levels with clients and internal teams
  • Ensure client satisfaction by resolving issues and responding to inquiries promptly
  • Track account performance metrics and provide regular reporting with improvement proposals

3. Distributor & Agent Management

  • Conduct regular meetings with distributors and agents to maintain strong partnerships
  • Set sales targets, track progress, and support agents in achieving goals
  • Deliver product training and share promotional strategies with distributor/agent staff
  • Evaluate distributor performance and develop action plans for improvement
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new distributor and agent partners

4. Sales Promotion & In-Store Execution

  • Develop and present in-store display concepts, fixture layouts, and zoning proposals to retail partners
  • Implement and maintain planograms, shelf placement, and merchandising standards
  • Create, place, and maintain POP materials and promotional assets in-store
  • Conduct product demonstrations and training sessions for retail partner staff
  • Plan and execute in-store campaigns and promotional activities

5. Reporting & Internal Coordination

  • Submit regular sales reports and market briefings to the Country Representative
  • Coordinate with the Country Representative and back office on pricing, inventory, and product matters
  • Maintain daily/weekly sales activity records and CRM pipeline
  • Liaise with back office on order processing and billing

  • Min. 2 years of retail or channel sales experience in the IT gadgets / consumer electronics industry
  • Proven track record selling into hypermarkets, electronics retailers, or similar retail channels
  • Experience managing or collaborating with distributors or sales agents
  • Hands-on experience planning and executing in-store promotional and merchandising activities
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills
  • Business-level proficiency in at least 2 of: English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin Chinese
  • Proficient in Excel and familiarity with CRM / SFA tools
