Responsibilities:

  • Ensure wastewater treatment processes operate according to operational requirements in a cost-effective, safe, and efficient manner.
  • Ensure full compliance with Department of Environment (DOE) regulations and standards.
  • Monitor and control wastewater treatment processes effectively to maintain optimal performance.
  • Perform chemical day tank top-up and level monitoring, including double containment checks and necessary housekeeping/clean-up.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with approved procedures and specifications.
  • Conduct routine and periodic inspections of treatment systems based on recommended schedules and checklists.
  • Troubleshoot process failures promptly and report any abnormalities to the superior.
  • Maintain accurate records of water quality parameters and other key operational indicators.
  • Safeguard and properly maintain all assigned equipment and tools.
  • Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by management.

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Must certified by DOE as Competent Person for CePIETSO (PCP), CePIETSO (BP) & CePSWaM (Schedule Waste Management).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of working experience in wastewater treatment plant operations or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, including biological, chemical, and physical treatment systems.
  • Familiar with DOE Malaysia regulations and Environmental Quality Act requirements.
  • Ability to monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot treatment system performance effectively.
  • Hands-on experience in handling chemical dosing systems, pumps, and treatment equipment.
  • Good documentation and reporting skills, including maintaining operational and compliance records.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and possess strong problem-solving skills.
  • Willing to work in a plant environment and attend to emergency situations if required.
  • Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
