Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the daily technical operations of designated vessels (e.g., Subsea/DSV, OSV), ensuring operational reliability, regulatory compliance, and the maintenance of high engineering standards.
- Organize and oversee scheduled dry-dockings, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities, ensuring work is completed efficiently, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Maintain strict compliance with ISM, ISPS, MLC, and applicable Flag State regulations, in alignment with the organization’s Safety Management System (SMS) and safety procedures.
- Establish and manage technical budgets for assigned vessels. Prepare and submit regular technical performance reports and HSE data to the Technical Manager.
- Work closely with Masters and Chief Engineers to resolve technical concerns, improve vessel performance, and coordinate the sourcing and supply of spare parts and equipment.
- Perform routine vessel visits, inspections, and audits to ensure compliance, proper maintenance practices, and operational readiness.
- Provide support during vessel mobilization and handover processes, including reviewing, updating, and maintaining technical documentation and manuals.
Requirements:
- At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in a comparable role, or previous experience assisting in vessel technical management.
- Degree in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture, or holding a Chief Engineer’s Certificate with relevant sea-going service experience.
- In-depth knowledge of marine engineering systems, including propulsion, electrical, and deck machinery, with practical experience using a Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
- Strong interpersonal and leadership capabilities, effective communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a demanding and fast-moving work environment.
