emerchantpay is an established payment services provider in Europe, US, Latin America, and India and now expanding fast into Southeast Asia and is therefore looking to hire a local Product Manager.
The Product Manager for APAC will be responsible for the strategy, roadmap, and feature definition of emerchantpay´s offerings for the area, in line with the organization's strategy and goals. The role involves working tightly with cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle to ensure maximum value to the organization. The Product Manager drives the capturing and alignment of key business requirements from all relevant stakeholders and supports the product owners, developers, and operational teams throughout development and delivery.
Please note that the role would a hybrid one, based in Kuala Lumpur.
Responsibilities
- Acts as the dedicated product champion for the APAC region, closely collaborating with Senior Management to craft an all-encompassing roadmap that integrates local complementary third-party products
- Documents and maintains a backlog of planned high-level features and milestones, linked to goals, and their order of priority
- Ensures alignment on both roadmap and high-level requirements between Senior Management, Merchants, Commercial and Operational Stakeholders, Product Development and Engineering
- Drives progress against goals, actively looking for ways to improve the product and make adjustments based on strategic targets
- Provides product knowledge and a sound understanding of local market and competitors, customer needs and capability requirements
- Understands the company´s overall product offerings and processes, including interdependencies with other systems and third parties
- Drives timely creation and delivery of all required materials for effective handover to operational and commercial teams, including e.g. Demos, FAQs, Product Descriptions, and internal sales material
- Collaborates with Product Owners and Engineering in development planning sessions
- Follow best practices in Product Management and UX Design, using data-driven decision-making, analysis, and user feedback to drive product improvements
Requirements
- Experience in a similar Product role for a PSP in the APAC region is a must
- 3-5 years of experience in Product Management related fields in the local markets
- Excellent understanding of the ecosystem of payment processing and acquiring services
- Prior experience working in a multi-national company and driving transformations
- Adopts diverse approaches to effectively communicate all aspects of product development with internal and external stakeholders, fostering transparent and collaborative relationships
- Can-do attitude and enthusiasm to overcome obstacles and get the job done, even if it means solving problems outside of the defined role
- Proficient in written and verbal English; additional languages also an advantage
- Education in BA/BS related field - Business, Finance, Economics, Software Engineering, or equivalent work experience
- Experience with different aspects of payment provider integrations: payment processing, card acquirers, online banking, and alternative payment methods
