About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior React Native Developer to join our engineering team as an early technical hire. In this pivotal role, you will take ownership of our mobile application, shaping its architecture and driving its development from conception to deployment. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to influence the technical foundation of our core product, working at the forefront of AI integration and mobile technology. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver a seamless, high-performance mobile experience that meets the needs of modern entrepreneurs.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years dedicated to React Native development for cross-platform mobile applications.
- Deep expertise in React Native core principles, Expo (including EAS), TypeScript, and modern state management libraries such as Jotai, Zustand, or Redux.
- Proven track record of profiling and optimizing complex mobile apps, utilizing tools like React Profiler and Flipper to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Extensive experience in architecting and implementing scalable and modular Design Systems, with a focus on performance and reusability.
- Strong understanding of network and data fetching layers, including advanced use of state management solutions like Tanstack Query, SWR, or Apollo, with experience in implementing robust retry and caching strategies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for delivering intuitive, user-centric interfaces that enhance user experience.
- Proficiency in backend integration via REST APIs and familiarity with cloud platforms such as Firebase, Supabase, or Google Cloud Platform.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of our mobile application using React Native and Expo (EAS), ensuring high code quality and adherence to best practices.
- Architect and enhance a high-performance Design System, focusing on component reusability, clear styling tokens, and comprehensive documentation, utilizing tools like Storybook.
- Develop and maintain the core network layer, ensuring efficient data fetching, error handling, caching, and data transformation to optimize app responsiveness and reliability.
- Drive performance optimization initiatives, including reducing unnecessary re-renders, minimizing bridge traffic, leveraging JSI for smooth animations, and optimizing startup times for a consistent 60 FPS experience.
- Take full ownership of core mobile features from initial concept through to deployment, ensuring timely delivery and high quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, troubleshoot issues, and implement innovative solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, share knowledge, and contribute to maintaining a high standard of engineering excellence across the team.
