About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior React Native Developer to join our technical team as an early hire. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in building and scaling our core mobile platform, which is central to our product offering. You will take ownership of designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance mobile applications that deliver a superior user experience. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence the technical foundation of our product, work on cutting-edge AI integrations, and contribute to a fast-paced startup environment. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to translate complex requirements into robust, scalable mobile solutions. Your expertise will help optimize app performance, enhance UI/UX, and ensure our platform remains at the forefront of mobile innovation.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mobile application development, with extensive experience in React Native and related technologies. Key qualifications include a minimum of five years in software development, with at least three years dedicated specifically to React Native for cross-platform mobile app creation. Proficiency in React Native core principles, Expo (including EAS), and TypeScript is essential. You should have a proven track record of profiling and optimizing complex mobile applications, resolving performance bottlenecks, and architecting scalable Design Systems. Experience with network and data fetching layers, utilizing advanced state management tools such as Tanstack Query, SWR, or Apollo, is required. Familiarity with backend integrations via REST APIs and cloud platforms like Firebase, GCP, or Supabase will be highly advantageous. Strong product sense, user-centric design thinking, and excellent problem-solving skills are also critical for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design, development, and maintenance of our mobile application using React Native and Expo (EAS).
- Architect and continuously improve a high-performance Design System, ensuring component reusability, clear styling tokens, and comprehensive documentation, utilizing tools like Storybook.
- Develop and maintain the core network layer, focusing on efficient data fetching, robust error handling, caching strategies with React Query or similar libraries, and streamlined data transformation.
- Drive app performance optimization efforts by reducing re-renders, minimizing bridge traffic, leveraging JSI for animations, and optimizing startup and bundle times to maintain a smooth 60 FPS experience.
- Take full ownership of core mobile features from concept through deployment, ensuring high quality and reliability.
- Participate in code reviews, share knowledge with team members, and uphold best practices to maintain high code quality and technical excellence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative features aligned with product goals and user needs.
