About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at Indium. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems and APIs that support our innovative solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, particularly in API development, cloud integrations, and data management. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to contribute to impactful projects in a fast-paced environment, utilizing their problem-solving skills and technical expertise to drive success.
Qualifications
Experience of 10+ years in software development, with a proven track record in building and maintaining complex backend systems. Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, with mandatory skills in API endpoint creation using frameworks like Flask, Django, or FastAPI. Hands-on experience with Datadog for monitoring and logging, as well as familiarity with asynchronous programming using Asynch.io. Knowledge of logging libraries and Datadog integration is essential. Basic understanding of database systems including Postgres and MongoDB is required. Experience with cloud services, particularly S3 and AWS, is advantageous but not mandatory. Familiarity with API management tools such as Postman or Mulesoft is preferred. Optional experience with gRPC is a plus. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, a problem-solving aptitude, and an analytical mindset with a strong business sense.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient API endpoints using Flask, Django, or FastAPI frameworks.
- Implement monitoring and logging solutions utilizing Datadog to ensure system health and performance.
- Collaborate with product managers and frontend teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Integrate cloud storage solutions such as AWS S3 for data management and storage needs.
- Develop asynchronous processes to optimize system performance and responsiveness.
- Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and debugging to maintain high-quality code standards.
- Maintain and optimize database schemas and queries for Postgres and MongoDB.
- Utilize API management tools like Postman or Mulesoft for API testing and documentation.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices to continuously improve system architecture.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment, sharing knowledge and mentoring junior developers as needed.
