About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Full-Time Django Developer with 3–4 years of hands-on experience in building scalable web applications. The ideal candidate will be strong in Django, Python, REST APIs, PostgreSQL, Docker, and real-time communication stacks (Daphne, Redis, WebSockets). You will collaborate with our product and engineering teams to design, develop, and maintain high-quality backend systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and clean code practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain backend services and web applications using Django and Python.
- Design and implement robust RESTful APIs aligned with product requirements.
- Work with PostgreSQL for advanced querying, schema design, indexing, and performance optimization.
- Implement asynchronous tasks and background processing using Celery.
- Integrate Daphne, Redis, and WebSockets to deliver real-time features.
- Containerize applications using Docker, manage Docker Compose setups, and support multi-stage builds.
- Collaborate with designers, PMs, and cross-functional teams for smooth development cycles.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code; maintain strong unit/integration test coverage.
- Conduct peer code reviews, provide feedback, and maintain documentation.
- Monitor system performance; implement logging, tracing, and error-handling best practices.
- Ensure application security, data privacy, and compliance with internal standards.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for APIs, data models, and deployment workflows.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3–4+ years of professional experience with Django and Python.
- Strong knowledge of REST API design and implementation.
- Deep expertise in PostgreSQL (advanced queries, indexing, optimization).
- Hands-on experience with Celery for background tasks.
- Experience with Daphne + Redis + WebSockets (ASGI stack).
- Strong command of Docker, Docker Compose, and containerized deployments.
- Proficiency in Git/GitHub workflows, PR reviews, and basic CI.
- Strong understanding of ORM concepts, schema modeling, and code testability.
- Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience in using LLMs/AI tools for productivity is a plus.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure): RDS, S3, IAM, VPC, etc.
- Basic front-end familiarity (HTML, CSS, JS) for debugging and integration.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and security tools.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus/Grafana, Sentry, or equivalent.
- Experience with API versioning, throttling, and high-traffic optimizations.
