About The Role
We are seeking an experienced React Native Developer to join our technical team as an early hire. This role offers a unique opportunity to take ownership of core mobile features and influence the technical foundation of our flagship product. As a key member of our engineering team, you will work on designing, developing, and maintaining our mobile application, ensuring high performance, scalability, and an exceptional user experience. Your contributions will directly impact the growth and success of our platform, and you will have the chance to work at the forefront of AI integration into mobile solutions. This position is ideal for someone passionate about building innovative mobile applications, with a strong focus on performance optimization and scalable architecture.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess over five years of software development experience, with at least three years dedicated to React Native development for cross-platform mobile applications. You should have expert proficiency in React Native core principles, Expo (including EAS), and TypeScript. Experience with modern state management libraries such as Jotai, Zustand, or Redux is essential. A deep understanding of profiling and optimizing complex mobile apps, including resolving rendering, memory, and bridge bottlenecks, is required. Candidates must have a proven track record in architecting and building scalable Design Systems focused on modularity and performance. Familiarity with backend integration via REST APIs, cloud platforms like Firebase, Supabase, or GCP, and advanced data fetching strategies using tools such as Tanstack Query or SWR is also necessary. Strong product sensibility and a user-centric approach to design and development are critical, along with excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of our mobile application using React Native and Expo (EAS).
- Architect and enhance a high-performance Design System with TypeScript, ensuring component reusability, clear styling tokens, and comprehensive documentation, for example, using Storybook.
- Develop and maintain the core network layer, ensuring efficient data fetching, robust error handling, and effective caching strategies using tools like React Query or similar libraries.
- Drive app performance optimization, focusing on reducing re-renders, minimizing bridge traffic, leveraging JSI for smooth animations, and optimizing startup time to deliver a consistent 60 FPS experience.
- Take full ownership of core mobile features, from conceptualization through deployment, ensuring high quality and reliability.
- Contribute to maintaining high code quality through rigorous peer reviews, knowledge sharing, and adherence to best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and designers, to deliver innovative and user-friendly mobile solutions.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in mobile technology and AI tools, integrating them into the development process to enhance product capabilities.
