About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for owning and enhancing our platform infrastructure, ensuring its stability, security, and scalability. You will work closely with development teams to implement GitOps practices, manage secrets, and automate deployment pipelines. This position offers an excellent opportunity to shape our operational practices, introduce new tools, and drive continuous improvement in our SaaS environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Kubernetes, AWS services, and infrastructure as code, with a passion for automation and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience managing production Kubernetes environments, preferably on EKS.
- Proficiency in Helm, ArgoCD, and GitOps workflows, with a deep understanding of their implementation and best practices.
- Hands-on experience with secrets management tools such as SOPS and AWS KMS, including key rotation and multi-environment strategies.
- Strong knowledge of Terraform for managing complex AWS infrastructure, with an emphasis on state management and drift detection.
- Experience with AWS services including EKS, RDS Aurora Postgres, ElastiCache Redis, ECR, ACM, Route53, IAM, KMS, SES, S3, and SQS.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as YAML, Bash, and familiarity with Go for custom tooling or policies.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and respond promptly in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent operational judgment, with a focus on preventative measures, validation, and automation.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Own and maintain the full GitOps pipeline, including CI/CD workflows, image promotion, and release management across development and production environments.
- Manage secrets with SOPS and AWS KMS, implementing environment-specific access policies and rotation strategies.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform, ensuring the AWS environment remains consistent, secure, and compliant.
- Automate container image builds, pushes, and deployment workflows using GitHub Actions, with SOPS-aware processes for secrets handling.
- Implement observability and SRE foundations, utilizing CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Grafana to monitor system health and performance.
- Collaborate with development teams to establish best practices for deploying, scaling, and maintaining SaaS products on Kubernetes.
- Proactively identify potential issues, implement preventative measures, and automate routine operational tasks.
- Contribute to the development of policies and tools that enhance system security, reliability, and efficiency.
- Participate in on-call rotations, providing timely responses to incidents and outages.
