About The Role
We are seeking experienced Java Backend Engineers to join a high-caliber product team within the fintech space on a 9-month remote contract basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge financial technology solutions, contributing to the development and enhancement of scalable, reliable, and secure backend systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining microservices-based architectures, ensuring high performance and seamless integration with various cloud-based services. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong background in backend development, system design, and distributed systems, capable of delivering impactful engineering solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- 8 to 13 years of extensive experience in backend engineering, with a proven track record in high-scale or fintech environments.
- Strong proficiency in modern Java (17, 21, 25) and microservices architecture.
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Elasticsearch, and cloud platforms, especially Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub).
- Solid understanding of databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
- Experience working with Temporal for workflow orchestration.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, particularly TeamCity.
- Excellent system design and distributed systems expertise.
- Ability to join immediately or within a very short notice period.
- Strong educational background in engineering or related fields.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services and microservices architectures to support high-volume financial applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, frontend developers, and QA to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Implement scalable, secure, and efficient data storage solutions using PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
- Optimize system performance and reliability through continuous monitoring and improvements.
- Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical decision-making processes.
- Ensure adherence to best practices in code quality, security, and documentation.
- Utilize cloud services and serverless architectures on Google Cloud Platform to enhance system capabilities.
- Contribute to the automation of deployment pipelines and integration processes using TeamCity and other CI/CD tools.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and incorporate innovative solutions to improve system functionality.
