Job Description
Join Ford Credit Services as a Full-Stack Software Engineer responsible for building high-quality, scalable cloud applications. You will contribute to dynamic, responsive user interfaces in React, develop robust Java/Spring Boot microservices, and help integrate cutting-edge AI features into our products.
Operating in an Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environment, you will work with GraphQL orchestrations on Google Cloud (GCP) backed by relational databases (RDBMS). We embrace a "you build it, you run it" DevOps culture where you will utilize Kubernetes, Docker, comprehensive BDD automation, and observability tools (Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus). You will also leverage AI-assisted "vibe coding" to accelerate development and embed Generative AI and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) features directly into customer-facing products.
Responsibilities
- Full-Stack Development: Build and maintain responsive web applications using React (with Jest) and develop scalable Java/Spring Boot microservices. Contribute to GraphQL orchestration layers and manage RDBMS schemas.
- AI Integration & Vibe Coding: Help integrate Generative AI, LLMs (via frameworks like LangChain), and RAG pipelines into core products. Utilize AI coding assistants ("vibe coding") for rapid prototyping and test generation.
- Test Automation & BDD: Write behavior-driven scenarios using Cucumber. Contribute to end-to-end and integration testing using modern frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium), alongside JUnit, Mockito, and JMeter.
- DevOps Practices: Containerize applications using Docker, deploy to Kubernetes clusters on GCP (or AWS/Azure) via CI/CD pipelines, and manage artifacts via JFrog.
- Security & Observability: Utilize SAST/SCA tools (Checkmarx, SonarQube, Cycode, Fossa) to address code vulnerabilities. Monitor application health and troubleshoot issues using Dynatrace, Grafana, and Prometheus.
- Agile Execution: Actively participate in Agile SDLC ceremonies (Scrum/Kanban) and manage workflows and documentation via Jira.
- Production Support & Reliability: Troubleshoot production issues, participate in incident reviews, and drive reliability and performance improvements.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent. 3–5 years of proven experience in full-stack software engineering.
- Core Stack: Solid proficiency in React, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Spring Boot, RDBMS, and GraphQL.
- AI/ML Knowledge: Familiarity with or a strong desire to learn Generative AI concepts, LLM integration, Prompt Engineering, Vector Databases, RAG, and Agentic workflows.
- Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud environments, with a strong preference for GCP (AWS or Azure also acceptable).
- Testing & BDD: Experience with Cucumber (BDD) and automated testing across the stack (Cypress/Playwright/Selenium, JUnit, Mockito).
- DevOps & Infrastructure: Working knowledge of DevOps principles, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and artifact registries (JFrog).
- Security & Monitoring: Experience using code scanning tools (Checkmarx, SonarQube) and observability platforms (Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus) in a production environment.
- Methodologies: Practical knowledge of Agile/SDLC methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) using Jira. Excellent communication skills for collaborating in a global delivery model.
