About The Role
We are seeking a Python Developer with strong expertise in FastAPI to join an exciting Reinforcement Learning (RL) Gym project. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing scalable APIs that support reinforcement learning experiments and simulations. You will collaborate closely with researchers and engineers to develop backend services that facilitate experimentation workflows, evaluation, and benchmarking processes. While prior experience with RL Gym is not mandatory, familiarity with reinforcement learning environments will be considered a plus. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI projects, contribute to innovative research, and develop scalable backend solutions that drive impactful AI advancements.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 4 years of professional Python development experience, with at least 3 years specializing in FastAPI. You should have a solid understanding of REST API design, asynchronous programming, and API lifecycle management. Familiarity with software engineering best practices including testing, CI/CD pipelines, version control, and design patterns is essential. Experience with data processing libraries such as NumPy and Pandas, as well as machine learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow, will be advantageous. Additional familiarity with reinforcement learning environments such as OpenAI Gym, Gymnasium, or Stable Baselines, along with SQL experience, will be considered a plus. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain FastAPI-based services to support experimentation workflows and simulation environments for reinforcement learning projects.
- Collaborate with machine learning engineers and researchers to expose APIs for training, evaluation, and benchmarking tasks.
- Write efficient, scalable, and production-grade Python code, ensuring maintainability and performance optimization.
- Troubleshoot performance issues, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize pipelines and application deployment processes.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in API development, AI research, and reinforcement learning environments to continuously improve project outcomes.
