About the Role
We are looking for a SQL Developer Intern to join our remote data and development team. This internship will provide hands-on experience in SQL development, database management, data querying, optimization, and database design.
You’ll work with databases and real-world data while learning how to write efficient queries, manage data, and support application and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Write and maintain SQL queries for data retrieval and analysis
- Create and manage database tables, views, and relationships
- Perform data insertion, updating, deletion, and validation
- Work with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server
- Develop complex queries using joins, subqueries, CTEs, and aggregate functions
- Create and maintain stored procedures, functions, and triggers
- Perform data cleaning and transformation using SQL
- Identify and troubleshoot data inconsistencies
- Optimize SQL queries for better performance
- Assist with database design and normalization
- Support data migration and database maintenance activities
- Generate reports and datasets for internal teams
- Document database structures, queries, and processes
- Collaborate with developers, data analysts, and other team members
What We're Looking For
- Currently pursuing or recently graduated in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of SQL
- Understanding of relational database concepts
- Familiarity with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server
- Knowledge of joins, subqueries, aggregate functions, and filtering
- Basic understanding of database normalization
- Familiarity with stored procedures and database functions is a plus
- Basic knowledge of Python is an advantage
- Understanding of data structures and database design is preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good attention to detail
- Willingness to learn database technologies and best practices
- Own laptop and stable internet connection
