About The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior PHP & WordPress Developer to join our remote team at Blurn.com. This is a full-time, long-term position designed for a dedicated professional with over 7 years of solid experience in PHP and WordPress development, including extensive customization of themes and plugins. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in leading the development and maintenance of complex WordPress websites, WooCommerce modules, and custom web applications. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions that meet our clients’ diverse needs. Qualifications

The successful candidate must possess a minimum of 7+ years of professional experience in PHP and WordPress development. A strong command of core PHP, along with familiarity with popular frameworks such as Laravel, CodeIgniter, or CakePHP, is essential. Expertise in customizing WordPress themes, plugins, and WooCommerce is mandatory, complemented by proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery for front-end development. Deep understanding of MySQL database architecture, query optimization, and web performance best practices is required. Candidates should demonstrate a solid knowledge of web security principles, including OWASP guidelines, and experience working with REST APIs, third-party integrations, payment gateways, and CRMs. Excellent project management skills, the ability to lead teams, and familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies are highly valued. Additionally, a thorough understanding of AEO-SEO, structured data, schema markup, and AI search readiness is a must-have for this role.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, customization, and maintenance of enterprise-level WordPress websites, themes, plugins, and WooCommerce modules, ensuring high standards of security, scalability, and performance.
• Build and optimize applications using Core PHP and frameworks such as Laravel, CodeIgniter, or CakePHP, adhering to best coding practices.
• Implement SEO strategies, including structured data, schema markup, and performance optimization techniques to enhance AI and search engine visibility.
• Design and develop responsive, pixel-perfect front-end interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery, ensuring cross-browser compatibility and optimal user experience.
• Ensure compliance with Core Web Vitals, implement caching strategies, and optimize website performance for speed and reliability.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs, third-party services, payment gateways, and automation tools to extend platform functionalities.
• Manage end-to-end project delivery, ensuring timely completion, quality standards, and client satisfaction.
• Mentor and review code for junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adherence to development standards.
• Maintain security best practices, including OWASP guidelines, to ensure platform stability and data protection.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, digital marketing teams, and clients to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Ensure websites meet WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards, are cross-browser compatible, and responsive across devices.
• Document development processes, manage workload effectively, and communicate progress clearly to stakeholders.
