Job Description
Our client is a global IT Services & Consulting organisation with offices in several countries and established presence in India. They are a household name in their sphere if business and continue to expand and grow their presence here.
We are looking for a skilled
Java Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, and cloud technologies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to build secure, high-performance, and cloud-native applications while contributing to the full software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Develop RESTful APIs and microservices following industry best practices.
- Build robust and secure backend services with Spring Data JPA and Hibernate.
- Integrate applications with messaging platforms such as Kafka and enterprise systems.
- Develop and optimize database solutions using MS SQL or other relational databases.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, QA engineers, and DevOps teams in an Agile environment.
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment activities.
- Contribute to system design, technical documentation, and engineering best practices.
- Troubleshoot production issues and ensure application reliability and scalability.
Required Skills & Experience
- 4-6 years of hands-on experience in Java backend development.
- Strong proficiency in Java (Java 8/11/17), Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, and Hibernate.
- Experience in developing RESTful APIs and microservices-based applications.
- Good understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and clean coding principles.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka or other messaging platforms.
- Experience working with relational databases such as MS SQL, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Knowledge of API integration, authentication, and API gateway concepts.
- Working knowledge of Azure or AWS cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes is an advantage.
- Experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Exposure to ReactJS or Angular is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in Financial Services, Banking, or FinTech domains is preferred.
- Exposure to cloud-native application development and containerized deployments.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
