About The Role
We are seeking experienced software engineers at the tech lead level to join our innovative team working on large language model (LLM) evaluation and training datasets. The primary focus of this role is to contribute to the development of verifiable software engineering tasks derived from public repository histories, utilizing synthetic approaches with human-in-the-loop methodologies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in analyzing and working with high-quality open-source repositories, automating development environments, and assessing code quality and test coverage. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence the future of AI-assisted software development by working on projects that bridge practical engineering with cutting-edge AI research.
Qualifications
Applicants should have a minimum of three years of professional experience in software engineering, with a strong emphasis on JavaScript and TypeScript. Proficiency in version control systems such as Git, containerization tools like Docker, and familiarity with setting up and managing software pipelines are essential. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to understand complex codebases, modify and run real-world projects locally, and evaluate code quality effectively. Experience contributing to or evaluating open-source projects is highly desirable. Additional skills that are advantageous include prior involvement in LLM research, building developer tools, or automation agents. The ideal candidate should be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of leading or collaborating within a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and triage GitHub issues across trending open-source libraries to identify challenging tasks for LLMs.
- Set up, configure, and maintain code repositories, including Dockerization and environment setup.
- Evaluate unit test coverage and code quality to ensure robustness and reliability.
- Modify, run, and test codebases locally to assess the performance of LLMs in bug-fixing and other software engineering scenarios.
- Collaborate with research teams to design and select repositories and issues that effectively test LLM capabilities.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers, fostering a collaborative environment focused on project goals.
