About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior PHP & WordPress Developer to join our dynamic team remotely. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-level projects for international clients, primarily focusing on custom WordPress development, PHP programming, and SEO optimization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the development and maintenance of complex WordPress websites, plugins, and themes, ensuring they meet enterprise-level standards for security, performance, and scalability. You will play a pivotal role in overseeing multiple projects, guiding junior developers, and collaborating closely with project managers, digital marketing teams, and clients to deliver innovative digital solutions. This role requires a proactive approach, technical expertise, and a passion for creating optimized, AI-ready websites that meet modern digital standards.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 7+ years of comprehensive experience in PHP and WordPress development, including extensive work on custom themes and plugins. Proven expertise in Core PHP and familiarity with PHP frameworks such as Laravel, CodeIgniter, or CakePHP is essential. Candidates must demonstrate advanced skills in WordPress customization, WooCommerce integration, API development, and third-party service integrations. A strong command of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery is required, along with a deep understanding of MySQL database architecture and query optimization. Knowledge of web performance optimization, caching strategies, and Core Web Vitals is critical for ensuring fast, responsive websites. Additionally, candidates should have a solid understanding of web security best practices, OWASP guidelines, and secure coding standards. Experience working with REST APIs, version control systems like Git, and implementing accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.1 is mandatory. Familiarity with SEO, particularly AI-driven SEO and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), is also essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, customization, and ongoing maintenance of high-quality WordPress websites, including themes, plugins, and WooCommerce modules, ensuring security, scalability, and performance.
• Build and enhance applications using Core PHP and popular PHP frameworks such as Laravel, CodeIgniter, or CakePHP, adhering to best coding practices.
• Implement SEO strategies focused on AEO-SEO, including structured data, schema markup, and AI-friendly content optimization to improve search engine visibility.
• Develop pixel-perfect, responsive front-end interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery, ensuring optimal user experience across devices.
• Optimize website performance by applying caching techniques, monitoring Core Web Vitals, and adhering to best development standards.
• Integrate REST APIs, third-party services, CRMs, payment gateways, and automation tools to extend platform functionalities.
• Manage end-to-end project delivery, ensuring timely completion, quality standards, and client satisfaction.
• Mentor and review code from junior developers, promoting best practices, security standards, and development consistency.
• Collaborate with project managers, digital marketing teams, and clients to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Ensure compliance with accessibility standards, cross-browser compatibility, and platform reliability.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, structured workflows, and clear communication throughout project lifecycles.
