Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer with strong expertise in Node.js to help design, build, and scale mission-critical financial infrastructure. You will work closely with founders, product teams, and engineers to develop secure, high-performance backend systems that power financial services at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript
- Build robust APIs and microservices powering fintech products and integrations
- Design, optimize, and manage high-performance MS SQL Server databases
- Integrate with banking systems, payment gateways, KYC providers, and other third-party financial platforms
- Architect cloud-native solutions on Azure, AWS, or GCP
- Ensure system reliability, security, performance, and scalability
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical decision-making
Required Skills & Experience
- 6+ years of hands-on backend development experience
- Strong proficiency in Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript
- Deep understanding of REST APIs and Microservices Architecture
- Strong experience with MS SQL Server and database optimization
- Experience building and deploying applications on Azure, AWS, or GCP
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices
- Exposure to fintech, banking, payments, lending, wealth-tech, or financial services domains
- Understanding of security and compliance considerations in financial systems
