About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Solar Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in New Delhi. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of solar PV power plant design, including equipment layouts, system sizing, and adherence to industry standards. This role involves designing and developing detailed solar layouts, performing technical calculations for equipment and system optimization, and ensuring seamless coordination with other engineering disciplines. The Solar Design Engineer will also be responsible for site assessments, feasibility studies, and preparing comprehensive project documentation such as BOQs, technical specifications, and CAD drawings. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale utility projects, contribute to innovative renewable energy solutions, and support the full lifecycle of solar project development from conceptualization to commissioning.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or a related technical field. A minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in solar PV system design and project execution is essential. Proficiency in design and analysis software such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, and Helioscope is required. Strong knowledge of electrical design principles, equipment sizing, and standards applicable to solar projects is necessary. Candidates should also have experience in site assessment, shading analysis, and energy modeling. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are vital for success in this role. Familiarity with utility connection requirements and experience in preparing technical specifications and cost estimates will be considered an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop detailed solar PV system layouts, including equipment placement, cable routing, and protection systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Perform system sizing calculations for modules, inverters, and other components to optimize energy output and financial viability.
- Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and perform performance modeling using software tools to predict energy generation and assess project feasibility.
- Prepare comprehensive Bill of Quantities (BOQ), cost estimates, and technical documentation for procurement and construction teams.
- Create detailed CAD drawings and graphical representations of solar layouts and energy production systems.
- Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and performance monitoring to ensure system efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate closely with Business Development and Procurement teams to identify optimal solutions tailored to project requirements.
- Ensure all designs meet electrical, mechanical, and structural standards and facilitate utility grid connection procedures.
- Monitor system performance post-installation, analyze data, and recommend optimization strategies.
- Visit project sites for feasibility analysis, progress tracking, and troubleshooting as needed.
