Embedded Software Engineer – AMD/Xilinx RFSoC
Job Description:
TNG is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join a team of top-tier professionals developing a high-performance system built on the AMD/Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC platform. This system will form the core technology behind the company’s future RF and wireless products, spanning secure cellular communications, signal-emission detection, and protection against communications exploitation.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop embedded C/C++ software for the RFSoC’s Arm Cortex-A53 and Cortex-R5F processors in embedded Linux, FreeRTOS, and bare-metal environments.
- Configure RF ADC/RF-DAC resources, AXI and DMA data paths, interrupts, clocks, NCOs, interpolation, decimation, and multi-tile synchronization.
- Support RFSoC board bring-up, FPGA integration, debugging, and system validation.
- Implement detection infrastructure and embedded algorithms to identify anomalous or unauthorized activity.
- Develop and optimize end-to-end, high-performance PCIe/DMA software solutions across embedded and host platforms, including low-level Linux drivers, user-space components, APIs, libraries, multithreaded applications, and automated performance testing.
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong embedded and system-level development experience in C and C++.
- Experience with Linux kernel development, device drivers, kernel modules, and user-space hardware interfaces.
- Experience with PCI Express, and DMA-based data transfer.
- Practical knowledge of AMD/Xilinx XDMA IP and Linux XDMA drivers.
- Experience developing multithreaded applications on Ubuntu or another Linux distribution.
- Experience with AMD/Xilinx Zynq, MPSoC, or RFSoC platforms and tools such as Vitis, Vivado, and PetaLinux.
- Knowledge of AXI, DMA, DDR, interrupts, memory mapping, cache coherency, and buffer management.
- Experience designing APIs and interfaces between kernel drivers, user-space libraries, and applications.
- Understanding ADC/DAC operation, sampling, I/Q processing, NCOs, interpolation, decimation, and FFT analysis.
- Strong debugging and performance-analysis skills using JTAG, GDB, ILA, kernel logs, tracing, and profiling tools. Ability to apply oscilloscope and spectrum analyzer.
- Ability to work closely with FPGA, RF, DSP, hardware, and system engineering teams.
- Knowledge of LTE / 5G Cellular technology is major advantage.
