We’re expanding our engineering teams and looking for a Lead Java Engineer to join a project focused on Customer Portal used by millions of users worldwide.
You’ll support the development of intelligent self-service solutions—including knowledge portals, secure content delivery, and AI-powered search—helping customers find accurate answers quickly and efficiently. You’ll work closely with solution architects, product managers, developers and other engineers in an agile, collaborative environment, contributing to product quality, stability, and continuous improvement.
This role plays an important part in ensuring that software meets client expectations, runs reliably at scale, and delivers real value to end users.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor development teams, promoting engineering excellence and best practices.
- Design, develop, and maintain front‑end and back‑end applications using JEE.
- Architect and implement REST APIs and web services for scalable solutions.
- Drive the adoption of microservices and distributed systems leveraging Spring Cloud, Kafka, Maven, and Jenkins.
- Ensure high‑quality code through design patterns, unit testing, refactoring, and structured development practices.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in a globally distributed environment.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines and version control with GitHub and Jenkins.
- Apply automated testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, FitNesse) to ensure reliability and maintainability.
- Work with relational databases (SQL Server), writing efficient queries and optimizing performance.
- Contribute to system administration tasks across Windows and Linux environments, including networking support.
For this role, we’re looking for:
- 8+ years of professional experience in JEE application development (front‑end and back‑end).
- Demonstrated leadership experience guiding development teams.
- Strong knowledge of software engineering principles, design patterns, and testing practices.
- Hands‑on experience with Spring Boot and Spring Batch.
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Proficiency in SQL Server and relational database design.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitHub, Jenkins) and modern DevOps practices.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, FitNesse).
- Working knowledge of IT administration on Windows/Linux and networking fundamentals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with technical curiosity and ownership mindset.
