Job Description
As a Mining Business Development Manager, your main responsibilities will include:
- Source and originate copper mining investment opportunities globally.
- Build and manage a pipeline of exploration, development, and producing assets.
- Conduct commercial and high-level technical assessments of copper projects.
- Analyze project economics, costs, risks, and value drivers.
- Develop financial models and valuation scenarios for investment decisions.
- Coordinate technical, legal, ESG, and commercial due diligence.
- Support structuring, negotiation, and execution of investment transactions.
- Prepare investment memos and materials for internal approval committees.
- Maintain relationships with project owners, partners, advisors, and stakeholders.
- Monitor portfolio assets and support post-investment value creation.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Mining Business Development Manager should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Mining, Geology, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- 7-12 years' experience in mining investment, corporate development, or resources advisory.
- Strong exposure to copper projects and mining value chains.
- Solid understanding of mining project development stages and risks.
- Advanced financial modeling and investment analysis skills.
- Ability to interpret technical reports (JORC, NI 43-101, feasibility studies).
- Proven deal origination, evaluation, or transaction support experience.
- Strong commercial, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of ESG, regulatory, and jurisdictional factors in mining.
- Willingness to travel and work across multiple geographies.
