Role Overview: The SAP HCM Payroll Lead is a high-level functional expert responsible for the end-to-end design, implementation, and governance of payroll processes within the SAP ERP environment. This role ensures that employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining strict compliance with regional tax laws and labor regulations. The Lead manages the technical complexity of payroll "schemas" and "rules" while acting as a strategic advisor to HR and Finance leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Configuration: Lead the technical configuration of Payroll Schemas and Personnel Calculation Rules (PCRs) to handle complex calculations like overtime, bonuses, and deductions.

Compliance Management: Ensure the system is configured to meet all statutory requirements for taxes, social security, and legal reporting (e.g., CPF in Singapore, BPJS in Indonesia, or PIT in Vietnam).

Integration Oversight: Manage the data flow between Payroll (PY) and other modules, specifically Personnel Administration (PA), Time Management (PT), and the Finance/Controlling (FI/CO) posting process.

Testing & Quality Assurance: Lead the "Parallel Payroll" runs to validate the accuracy of a new system configuration against existing legacy results.

Year-End Activities: Oversee critical year-end processes, including the application of Legal Change Patches (LCPs) and the generation of tax statements.

Team Leadership: Manage a team of functional consultants and provide expert guidance on troubleshooting complex payroll clusters (RD/RX).

Technical Expertise

Core Payroll Expertise: Advanced knowledge of the SAP Payroll engine, including the Payroll Control Center (PCC) and DME (Data Medium Exchange) for bank file generation.

Schema Logic: Hands-on experience with transaction codes PE01 (Schemas) and PE02 (Rules).

Reporting Tools: Proficiency in Wage Type Reporter, Ad-hoc Query, and specialized legal reporting tools.

S/4HANA Experience: Familiarity with SAP HCM for S/4HANA or SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP) is highly desirable.

FI-CO Integration: Strong understanding of symbolic account mapping and financial posting logic.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Lead a team
  • Minimum 2 end to end implementation as Lead
  • Expertise in Core HR, Payroll, Personnel Administration (PA), Time Management (PT), Organizational Management (OM), Integration with Finance (FI/CO), Personnel Cost Planning (PA-CP)
