Engineering Operations – Kitchen & Laundry
• Ensure all kitchen and laundry machinery, equipment, and utilities are properly maintained and fully operational at all times.
• Supervise daily maintenance activities for kitchen and laundry areas including preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Ensure all engineering standards, safety regulations, and hotel procedures are followed in kitchen and laundry operations.
• Monitor attendance, duty schedules, and performance of assigned technicians.
• Conduct regular inspections and spot checks on kitchen and laundry areas to ensure equipment safety, cleanliness, and operational reliability.
• Coordinate closely with the Kitchen, Stewarding, and Laundry Departments regarding equipment condition, breakdowns, and repair schedules.
• Ensure immediate response to breakdowns to minimize operational disruption.
• Maintain all maintenance logs, service reports, and equipment records accurately.
• Support the implementation of energy-saving and water-saving initiatives in kitchen and laundry operations.
• Ensure proper use of chemicals, steam systems, gas systems, and electrical equipment in compliance with safety standards.
Team Management
• Supervise, guide, and train technicians to ensure technical competency and safe working practices.
• Foster good teamwork and effective communication between engineering and operational departments.
• Ensure proper shift handovers and daily briefings are conducted.
• Participate in departmental meetings and coordination sessions.
• Encourage discipline, grooming standards, and professional conduct among team members.
• Enforce cost-saving measures, reduction of material waste, and recycling initiatives where applicable.
Other Responsibilities
• Maintain strong product and operational knowledge related to kitchen and laundry equipment.
• Provide technical support during special events, banquets, and high-occupancy operations.
• Ensure compliance with hotel brand standards and local regulations at all times.
• Assist in guest-related issues when required and support service recovery.
• Maintain a positive hotel image through professional conduct and responsiveness.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Chief Engineer or Management.
