The Legislative Council Secretariat (“the Secretariat”) is looking for a high-calibre individual for appointment as Assistant Public Information Officer in its Media and Public Relations Division (“MPRD”). Under the supervision of The Legislative Council Commission, the Secretariat’s mission is to provide efficient and professional secretariat, research and administrative support for the Legislative Council (“LegCo”), enhance community understanding of the activities of LegCo and ensure an effective avenue for redressing grievances of members of the public.
Main duties
The main duties of an Assistant Public Information Officer include:
(a) providing assistance to organize and conduct various education programmes;
(b) assisting in the production of education and publicity materials;
(c) assisting in the maintenance of the LegCo Complex’s education facilities and regularly updating the content displayed;
(d) updating and enhancing the content of the “Education” section of the LegCo website;
(e) providing media support and visitor services, as well as administrative support to MPRD, when necessary; and
(f) undertaking other duties assigned by supervisors.
Staff in MPRD are subject to posting within the Division.
Entry requirements
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognized university degree;
(b) preferably three years’ work experience in community education, public relations, journalism and/or corporate communication;
(c) an excellent command of spoken and written Chinese and English, with proficiency in Putonghua;
(d) hands-on skills for using information technology and artificial intelligence tools, preferably with good design layout skills, and knowledge of developing and maintaining online portals;
(e) good political and public relations sense;
(f) strong self-motivation and a positive attitude towards challenges and changes;
(g) a strong user-oriented and innovative mindset, as well as good analytical skills and problem-solving abilities;
and be:
(h) team players with good communication and presentation skills;
(i) capable of working independently, flexibly and under pressure; and
(j) willing to work beyond normal office hours and on holidays when needed.
The Secretariat may devise further criteria to shortlist applicants. Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend a written test.
Remuneration
The starting salary is $33,405 per month, increasing by 13 annual increments to $61,865, subject to satisfactory conduct and work performance. There is also a monthly cash allowance for the rank of Assistant Public Information Officer (the current rate is $765 per month). The successful applicant will be appointed on three-year agreement terms subject to renewal upon satisfactory completion of service, at which the appointee will be eligible for an end-of-agreement gratuity. The gratuity, when added to the employer’s contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme, is equal to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the agreement period. Fringe benefits include paid leave as well as medical and dental benefits.

薪酬
入職薪酬為每月33,405元,如職員的行為及工作表現令人滿意,可按13個按年增薪額增至61,865元;另有為公共資訊助理主任職級而設的每月現金津貼(現時的津貼額為每月765元)。成功獲聘的申請人會按合約條款受聘,為期3年,倘完成服務期而工作表現良好,可獲續約,並會獲得一筆約滿酬金,其款額加上僱主在強制性公積金計劃下所作的供款,相等於合約期內所得底薪總額的15%。附帶福利包括有薪假期、醫療及牙科福利。
