We are looking for a hands-on BESS Engineer to help design and build Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solutions as the company scales across Europe.
This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys turning concepts into operational systems — from architecture and prototyping to testing, commissioning, and commercial deployment.
You will play a key role in developing our Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) platform, covering both physical system integration and software & control intelligence, depending on your background and strengths.
What You’ll Do
- Design and develop BESS system architectures (batteries, inverters, EMS, grid connection)
- Build, test, and validate prototypes and pilot systems
- Support transition from prototype to commercial product
- Work with system protection, power quality, and control strategies
- Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
- Ensure compliance with EU grid codes, safety standards, and certification requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, Software Engineering, Automation, Power Electronics, or related field
- Several years of experience in energy storage, power systems, renewables, or industrial software
- Experience with BESS, BMS, EMS, inverters, or grid-connected systems
- Hands-on mindset — ability to design, build, test, and iterate
- Experience with embedded systems, real-time control, or system integration is a strong plus
- Practical, problem-solving approach suited to a startup environment
- Experience with European or international energy projects is an advantage
- Strong communication skills
- Fluent English and Finnish required
