The Role
• Contribute to the launch of the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) in 2025, a significant development in utility computing.
• Build and lead operations and development teams focused on delivering high-availability AWS services.
• Enhance day-to-day operations to improve availability, reliability, latency, performance, and efficiency of ESC.
• Collaborate with technology leaders and influence the evolution of AWS services and technology.
• Participate in on-call rotations to resolve incidents and ensure 24x7 operational excellence.
• Develop and test scripts to enhance workflows and provide practical solutions for system improvements.
What You'll Need
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science (or related IT discipline) or equivalent industry experience.
• Knowledge or experience in scripting (Bash, Python, or Ruby) or software development (Java, TypeScript, or similar), coupled with Linux and networking fundamentals.
• Experience operating service in AWS or other cloud systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., CDK, CloudFormation, Ansible).
• Experience with monitoring frameworks (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog, Grafana) and performance tuning is a plus.
