Backed by deep tech and data, they’re building a scalable, reliable 24/7 cloud infrastructure to power smarter energy systems. Now, they’re looking for a Python Backend Developer to join their Barcelona-based team. You’ll contribute to the design, development, and deployment of key backend services, working on scalable cloud systems with modern engineering best practices (peer reviews, CI, design sessions, pair programming). Job Description

Bamboo Energy is a cleantech startup born in Barcelona three years ago. We offer a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) cloud platform to optimize the energy consumption, allowing consumers to reduce their electricity bill and gain extra revenues, helping the integration of renewables in the energy system. We are a young company using deep tech and data to accelerate the energy transition.

Our tech team is responsible for developing the scalable cloud solution. We leverage software engineering best practices to offer reliable services to our clients. We hold software design sessions, we pair-program, and code is peer-reviewed and tested with continuous integration.

As a Python Backend Developer you will participate in the design, development and deployment of key services for our energy management platform. You will build cloud infrastructure of 24/7 scalable services, including technologies to improve development and deployment cycle.

At Bamboo Energy we love flexible remote work. We usually meet in person twice a week in our office in Barcelona, hold design sessions and have fun lunches together.

What will you do at Bamboo?

● Implement new services at our cloud platform to our customers.

● Design and implement new features to existing services.

● Improve current services' efficiency and scalability.

● Fix bugs in the BambooEnergy platform.

● Code refactoring improving its readability, maintainability, or performance without changing its external behavior.

● Optimization of software resources improving the efficiency, speed, or resource usage of the software.

What we need from you?

Essential

● 2+ years of experience as a Backend programmer in at least two medium sized/big projects.

● 2+ years of Python experience.

● Experience in Linux/MAC system operation environment

Advantageous

● Experience with CI/CD software in a medium-sized/big project: Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Kubernetes, etc.

● Experience in Cloud Computing Services in a complex, medium-sized/big project in production.

Languages

● Spanish

● English for technical purposes

And some soft skills

● Eager to explore the unknown.

● Feels comfortable discussing new services technical implementation.

● Can successfully explain difficult problems to non-technical audience

● Proactive, efficient and results oriented
