Financial Controller

We are a company in growth, and in this newly established position as Financial Controller, you will take on a central role in our Finance function. You will be responsible for both recurring operational tasks, controlling, reconciliations, continuous business support, and have the opportunity to influence and improve our processes.

You will be an important support to our Finance Manager, acting as her right hand and serving as back-up in her absence.

Makita Denmark is a Danish subsidiary that consolidates with our German parent company, Makita Werkzeug GmbH, and reports to Makita Corporation in Japan. You will therefore work within both Danish and international frameworks and be a key contributor in ensuring solid and accurate reporting.

Your Responsibilities

As our new Financial Controller, you will become part of a small, strong team within the Finance department and have a broad interface across the entire organization. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Shared responsibility for the month-end closing process

• Performing and documenting VAT reconciliations

• Ensuring accurate transfer pricing data and reporting

• Handling general ledger tasks, including intercompany reconciliations

• Conducting financial analyses and preparing ongoing management reporting

• Improving and automating financial processes and workflows

• Providing support and sparring to the Finance Manager

• Contributing to knowledge sharing and collaboration within the Finance team

• Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow management

• Participating in audit preparation and coordinating with internal and external auditors

• Acting as back-up for the Finance Manager when needed

Your Profile

You are structured, detail-oriented, and deliver high-quality results on time. You communicate financial information clearly across the organization and thrive in a role with both routine tasks and process development.

We expect that you have:

• A higher education within finance, accounting, or economics

• Approximately 3 years of experience in controlling, reporting, and financial analysis

• Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems

• Solid understanding of financial processes and accounting principles

• Strong knowledge of Danish accounting legislation and IFRS

• Professional proficiency in Danish and English
